Mr. Clifford, your right, I'm sure you would need to know more about my Wrangler to make an more informed diag. It's a 98 with a TrailMaster lift kit (not mine, I bought it that way) of about 3 inches. Besides the AEM cold air intake system and Jet superchip everything else is stock. Hope that gives someone a clue, but that track bar thing sounds logical.

With that bolt only being a 7/16" bolt and a nut plate on the back I wouldn't suggest 90 ft/lbs. I like to weld a new plate in front of the track bar bracket. I have these speed hole gussets in the shop. It just requires a little bit of boring out the hole to make the bolt slip through. Then I just weld it in place.



If you can drop your track bar stick the bolt back in the hole. If it is moving around you need to get it tight. It will improve steering if nothing else.

1BLKJP Clifford is dead on. First thing is to make sure that everything is tight in your front end. Both ends of the trac bar, all of the control arms, drag link and tie rod. Then if you are still having it get your tires balanced. Cheap and easy to do and will make a world of difference.

EDIT: The biggest cause of death wobble I've seen on stock jeeps is the track bar hole at the axle.

Check out the gap with the bolt in the hole.



If the bracket doesn't hold the bolt still you will get some nasty pops and possibly death wobble. But all things considered you might tell us a little about your rig so we can better assess your problem

Scout No it doesn't. I'm currently running a Superlift Adjustable Front Track Bar. I had it installed when I installed my lift. I would highly recommend you get an adjustable track bar if you're considering running this steering system.

Yep! It makes life worth living. Wondering "Will this slight bump on this highly elevated bridge set it off?". Anticipating "Will this vibration from going over this slight bump on this highly elevated bridge turn in to something more?". Experiencing "HOLY $#!+!". Resolving "Geez, I wish I knew a good mechanic in the TULSA OKLAHOMA AREA that knew about this." I love my 98 Wrangler but this is happening more and more lately. I've asked a few mechanics that scratch their head and suggest doing this, that, and the other thing. It all sounds like throwing parts at the problem. Is there anybody out there that can recommend a good mechanic in the Tulsa area that may know a thing or two about this oh-so fun phenomenon? Thanks for all replies.
