If you vehicle is stolen by amateurs, they are going to trash your vehicle. No doubt that the ignition system and or locking systems will be damaged. The police will prob find it a few weeks wrecked or stripped. This is the point where I would not want it back.
Personal belongings? Who keeps them in a Jeep anyway? lol

|gnjlee||About a year ago I successfully moved from the Detroit area for good (No offense to Motor City Fanatics).... horrible weather and high crime (Drove rear wheel drive BMWs there, even in the snow). The cost of gap coverage was well worth the peace of mind.|

1.) I have personally never heard of anyone getting a vehicle back with no damage.... If time is a factor which it usually is...they won't bother trying to put the vehicle in N. They just drag the thing on it's tires.
2.) I can't speak for others, but I always purchase gap insurance if I am carrying a payment without significant money down. Have seen too many people burned by insurance totaling out the vehicle and not covering the entire loan.

|RH_Trek||I had Lojack in my 2006 BMW 330XI. I think it's a good idea to purchase, especially if it's easy access to get inside your jeep and if you live in a shady neighborhood or visit one frequently.|

Thank you for considering LoJack for your Jeep. If you have any questions or want to place an order please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-4-LOJACK (1-800-456-5225)
To those who mentioned they wouldn't care if their vehicle was stolen, and they would take the insurance money. What about the sales taxes and fee's you paid on the vehicle? Personal belongings? Customizations? All lost if your vehicle is stolen and not recovered and not to mention the hassle of it all.
LoJack offers a 90% recovery rate on cars and trucks, we have over 300,000 total recoveries (averaging 10,000+ per year) worldwide, and we are the only stolen vehicle recovery system directly integrated with the police.
As mentioned below (our success stories blog), Southern California one of our top market for recoveries and it is fairly common for us to work with Mexican authorities to recover vehicles that have crossed the border or are about to.
Thank you again for considering LoJack.

As far as insurance goes from the moment you drove it off the dealerships lot you were upside down in the Rig. I know it's a Jeep and has a great resale value, but just call your agent and ask them what they would pay off on your note. You will be suprised!

|gnjlee||There can be considerable damage done to a vehicle by a thief...If you have full coverage and a monthly payment...Do you really WANT it back? Why not just get another one?|

Living in San Diego I ordered it with my Jeep too, with the early warning system.

and if its stolen and goes into mexico you'll never see it again, even with the Lojack!

It is tough to steal the JKs. They have a chipped key. It will run for a few seconds then shut off with an unprogrammed one. I am sure though, if someone wants the rig bad enough, they'd find a way.
