xsdbs curious, how long between the initial volume change and the next attempt to use Uconnect are you waiting? Is it like the next time you get into the vehicle or is it in the same trip?

This works for the RES, REQ, RHB & RBZ radios but should also work on the 730 & 730N.

xsdbs I have been seeing this message on the iphones since I had my original 4, it started when I updated to the Apple iOS 4.20 and I have seen it now on the 4S as well as the 5. Just click "ok" on the phone screen and forget about it. It's a fluke and Apple has no plans on doing anything about it.

Then this loud voice starts talking. Louder than my voice was when I was talking to the kids.

It's all going to be over soon, I'm replacing the headunit in part to upgrade - and part to get rid of this issue.

xsdbs If during a call you want it to become a private call then all you need to do is what I mentioned above. I explained why transferring the call to the phone by using the button that you described won't work. It's because the phone transfers the call but does not tell Uconnect to tell the radio to go back to stereo mode. It maintains a BT connection. If you transfer the call using the Uconnect voice button, then the BT connection is cut and Uconnect tells the stereo to go back to radio mode. If you don't believe it, try it.
As for not using BT, it is becoming illegal in many states and can acquire you a ticket up to $150.

She calls from her u-connect to me in my truck on mine & when I answer there is no one there. Just sounds like an open line? Same thing if she calls the house phone. So if I call her back then the call will go through. Once in a while it does work though? Her S3 is the only one we have had trouble with for some reason. Verizon says it's likely to be an app. but there isn't that many on her phone.
04-22-2013 09:03 AM
xsdbs well, not really. Which ever phone connects up is the 1st to answer the reply.

The Autoconnect procedure is:
a.) Try to connect to device with highest priority
b.) If not successful, wait a few seconds for an incoming connection
c.) Try to connect to device with second highest priority
d.) If not successful, wait a few seconds for an incoming connection
e.) ….

An incoming connection is handled without any priority.
First come, first serve
So, if priority #1 doesn't answer, then Uconnect will look for #2 and so on. Kind of like being at the DMV and you're # is called but you're in the restroom and don't hear it. When you come out, your # has been passed up.

xsdbs either she can turn BT off on the phone or when she's in a call, she can press and release the Uconnect voice button and say "transfer call". That call will now be routed thru the phone instead of the stereo.

jt5280 Same here. iPhone 5 with 6.1.3. No issues.*

*Once I got on 6.1.3 (had to warranty a phone) I had to "Forget this Device" once before it would successfully connect. I started the process over and now it works flawlessly.

Smythe86 I have iphone 5 6.1.3 and the stock radio for a 12 jku. And it works fine
04-20-2013 07:15 PM
sr71 2013 JKU - brand new yesterday. 130 radio. Here is exactly what I did today (goal was to pair 3 iPhones - all Verizon & make sure ipod worked) :
1) connected ipod via USB. worked perfect - dash & steering controls took over as expected. Left it connected .....

2) paired iPhone 5 (6.1.3).... made it the #2 pairing. Calls in and out (using address book) work fine .... music streams via bluetooth through radio.... radio and steering wheel controls work....can switch between iPod source and iPhone source as expected

3) paired iPhone 4S (6.1.3).... made it the #3 pairing. Calls in and out work fine .... music streams via bluetooth through radio.... radio and steering wheel controls work....can switch between iPod source and iPhone source as expected

4) paired iPhone 5 (6.1.3).... made it the #1 pairing. Calls in and out work fine .... music streams via bluetooth through radio.... radio and steering wheel controls work....can switch between iPod source and iPhone source as expected

Basically...totally painless install.

Smythe86 Yea I got that my first time. Simply connected again and never had an issue. Sounds like faulty software to me

lesgoff Tried again and the same thing occurs. I started out by removing all devices from uconnect, and all pairings from iphone. I paired the phone, entered the pass code and the radio replied that pairing was complete. Then I get the following message on the phone "Pairing Unsuccessful Make sure "UConnect" is ready to pair, the PIN code is correct, and try again."
