Ebxgsxr that's a great price range to find a jeep. you could definitely find one. just search & find the right one for you.

i got my built 99 for $9500. only thing i was looking for was an auto with a/c (for my son). this one was a manual, but it only had 41k miles on it. plus everything was done to it that i would want to do, so i overlooked the auto.

97GreenGiant I got mine for 7500. And it runs perfect. The body has scratches but it was a weekend driver it's a 97 with 100k I didn't think it was too bad. It also came with a 1200$ warn xd9000i winch. 33 tires and I put 35s on. Good luck your best bet is to stay away from dealers

thejeepdangler Im lookin to sell my TJ 4L I6 aftermarket front and rear bumber extra roll bar 3o inch tires.good condition lots of brand new parts pm me if interested

Munson821 That price point puts you well into a nice clean Rubicon that probably has a few extras to go with it. My advice is take your time and don't rush into a purchase you'll find a good deal if you spend some time lookin around. Good luck to ya.

P.S. under no circumstances are you to buy a 4 cylinder lol.

MarkGLHS yes you can find a nice TJ for under $15K as others have shown.

but to be sure you are not over-paying, you need to get out and actually look at and test drive as many vehicles as you can to be sure you are getting a decent deal for your market area (i.e.: TX Jeeps are way cheaper than MA Jeeps).

The Jeep might sound nice on paper and by the pix in the ad, but the actual Wrangler might be a p.o.s.......I spent 7 months searching for a nice TJ and believe me the ads are not always accurate, some are down right fraud. NADA and KBB are nice guides, but trust me, nice low mileage one-owner TJ's go for above NADA most of the time.

I paid 8% above NADA for my TJ and consider it a decent deal for this market (Connecticut).

Johns01 I do wish I would have held out a little longer to find a manual but for months all I could find were manual 4 bangers and there was no way I was getting a 4 cylinder jeep

Johns01 I paid 9000 for my 01 sahara earlier this year. It's in great shape. Hard top. 100k miles. I looked for months and saw many with 150k and higher for twice as much in worse shape. Every thing works great and it's super clean. I need to beef it up now but I'm very happy with it

Jessica08 I bought a 2002 Wrangler Sahara edition with 90K miles for $14,500.00 plus tax so just under $15,000.00. It is super clean looks great. It came with a hard top, soft top, a lift, chrome wheels, 33" tires. I may have overpaid a little but it was the nicest one I've seen. Don't think it has ever been off road which is good. The air doesn't blow out the front vents but other than that no real problems. I haven't found a leak yet so I may have to take it somewhere to get it fixed.

Wheelerbob I got my 2000 sport last summer with 64000 on the clock with 4.0, 5 speed, ac and a dana 44, nice wheels and tires (32's), 2" budget boost, warn front and rear bumpers and a warn m8000 winch. All the parts were like new. The carfax said the previous owner only had it 7 months. I think they bought it and added all the parts and then figured out the gas milage sucked and traded it back in. No rust on the body at all and the frame is solid. Paid 12K out the door.

jasongind I was able to pick up my stock '04 Rubicon w/ less than 95,000 miles for $10,000 from a VW dealership. Don't settle, find a real deal & what you want it you Romy be happy & end up spending more in there long run.

XJ Knight Look at all the TJ's and LJ's in the links above. All if clean are winners

chop110 4-cylinders are slugs. Try to find an 4 liter inline six.

XJ Knight the 4cyl auto's are gutless turds. 13K is laughable. RUN

mdslater Found one for 13k, '04, 80,000 miles, 4 cylinder, auto. What do you guys think?

fan of fanboys As others have stated patience and persistence.

Two years ago I got an '01. Was local, a woman who never left pavement, 1owner, Dana 44, Sport, soft top manual, 63K miles (if i remember. was low 60s) and I got for $11K

chainring Just snagged a garaged, all stock 2004 LJ with 14000 miles for 16,950. You can definitely find a nice one in your range. Try to find single owner private sale, but you can sure find one that will serve you well. I used the adhuntr site to search all of Craig's List and kept an eye on eBay. Took a couple months, but eBay finally paid off. There are some really nice ones out there, so don't settle for just anything.

It was the electric lime green '04 or a gecko green '12 for three times the price. I'll take that sacrifice any day of the week.

Really? When I was looking for my wife's I was only seeing '05-'06. Glad you were around to clear that up.

I REALLY wanted to get her an Unlimited, but she was adamant she wanted the ugly ass electric lime green. The only one I could find was five states away and more than twice what we paid for her TJ.

Needless to say... she likes her ugly ass green TJ!

Can anyone tell me if I can get a TJ in great condition for this budget? I don't want to buy something, and then have to replace the entire engine or something like that in a month's time.
And, what are some common problems that I need to look for in TJs?
Thank you!
