Jma20a the sirius plug and play kit i have was $120, the head unit was $250(ebay)

with a new head unit the speakers are going to sound better, you can add bluetooth, ipod, sirius, and a bunch of other stuff in the future. take a look around on find one you like and then search for it in ebay.

dj_chizzle replace the head unit, it's a piece of crap anyway. new head unit plus a cheapo sirius sat radio that connects directly to your head unit w/aux cable will run you a total of about $125 if u install yourself

Jma20a what i suggest is to get a new headunit. one with an input in it so you can hook up a plug and play kit, that way you don't have to worry about static from an fm mod.

scotiez I also have the FM direct adaptor. It works great. there is also no need to pull out the radio to hook it up to the antenna input. If you pull out the glove box there is a antenna connection right behind it. just place your FM direct adaptor there and it will work just like a Pro.

Jrzymilitia Ok this is what you should do..If you want a unit that you can take out to bring in your car house take to the beach etc etc..Then get the unit from say best buy or something and pick up a piece called a FM Direct it makes it sound like a cd..Trust me..If say you wanted to change out your radio and put a pioneer in then you can have a dedicated unit that will not be seen but when you hit sat. on the radio you will get it. If it was me I would grab the unit and the FM direct which is only 30 bucks at best buy...Works like a champ.. O yea and be careful mounting that antena its like floss

cavediverjc Mine's a 2005, and I've got the modulator. It works ok, but I have to turn up the volume quite a bit to hear it. My next head unit will have Sirius built in, as well as an aux port for the Zune.

Question about Sirius

I have a 2004 with the factory radio (CD Player, not the Navigator). My wife is planning on buying me SIRIUS for Christmas and I have been doing some research and would like some input from someone with the experience. First off, I do not want to use an FM modulator, so will the 2004 OEM radios support a direct plugin from a sirius receiver. I was looking at ( MOPAR 82208908AA - MOPAR® SIRIUS Satellite Radio Kit for 03-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ & Unlimited - Quadratec ), but am not sure if this using FM Modulation or a direct plug-in to the radio.

Here is the radio that I have:

Attachment 4832

So, I guess my question is, does anyone with an 2004 model have Sirius running through their OEM radio?
