sad state of affairs
Jeff, My Sister just fwd me a copy of your response to a warranty issue with her Jeep.Sounds you are an *** appointee to spread bullshit. I live several hours away otherwise I would drive her vehicle in for her and align the service people there inOdessa TX. Maybe the Media should be made aware of Them (Chrystler) being sexist and taking advantage of women. Like are they given bonuses for not providing warranty, almost sounds like the VA thing. A responsible person in your position would directly deal with the issue, Talk with the local idiot, have him call her, personally
apologize, arrange a service vehicle, and repair the vehicle.

Welll after couple weeks emailing back and forth with customer service I get this email yesterday: Feels like nothing is different.
Thank you for your response. I reviewed into this matter further with your Dealership. If you are presently experiencing difficulties with your vehicle you feel fall under the X56 extended warranty, we do recommend scheduling an appointment with your Dealership and undergoing a diagnosis
with them. The comments made by Mario your Service Manager advising you to take your vehicle elsewhere are regrettable and have been noted
on record. We at Chrysler take your concerns such as these seriously. I
regret the fact that you have encountered this issue. We are committed
to an improved focus on customer satisfaction. Your concern has been documented, and I will be sending your comments as a letter to the owner of the dealership, as well as to the Chrysler Business Center, on your behalf, so that it can be reviewed and addressed by those parties.
If you are experiencing any problems with an issue you feel
deserves attention, we certainly recommend that you contact your
local dealer to arrange an appointment so that they can inspect the vehicle
and determine an appropriate course of action.
Although we recommend that you return to your selling dealer
for service, any authorized Chrysler Group LLC dealership can
repair your vehicle. You are not limited to the dealership that sold you
your vehicle. I have updated your file to reflect the information provided
in your email. If the vehicle is at the Dealership and the issues
remain unresolved, please respond using your method of choice,
either by phone: 1-877-IAM-JEEP (426-5337) or by using the link provided
below to advise us of this information. We will be more than happy to
further review your situation at that time.

Thanks for your help. You have calmed my worries.
I am going to take it to Auto Zone and have them do a code check and let me see the results and go from there. Not that I don't trust the dealership but I don't.

|westtexie||I was just wondering if anyone can help me in knowing what the consequences of driving my jeep with the check engine light on with it being a misfire? Since I can't get much help from my local dealership I might have to drive else where and wondering what damage I could do. Thanks for your help.|

I have had check engine light on for a few weeks on my 2012 Rubicon. I thought bad gas but after 2nd tank took it to Chrysler house in Odessa, TX for them to do the code check. I told man from service department on Jeep forum I saw where several owners were having check engine light and it was due to head problems. The service department man -Mario said " It's misfiring you need to get a tune up it's almost time anyways and if that doesn't fix it bring it back in and I'll flash ...the code and run a diagnostic on it.. If it's the heads I'll have to tear into it and it's a major time consuming job.
I said will you give me a loaner and he said probably not since their loaners are all out. After talking with my husband and checking our manual my jeep does not require tune-up till 94,000 miles I have 27,600. I am so upset. My husband called and left the service department a nice message and of course they have not called him back. I guess we will be going up there tomorrow and talk to them. This is my second jeep but beginning to wonder if it is worth it. I just found an article on-line where Jeep has extended the warranty on the heads to 10yrs. Guess it is major. So frustrating dealing with dealership here but dont have much choice unless want to travel a good distance.

Called the dealer and they cant look at it till next week and don't give out loaner cars and I am leaving on a road trip with the family Sunday. Looks like we might be walking. Or I should drive it and hope the piece of S*** blows up on the way.|

|blackrubicon||My 2012 started coming on about 13k miles. I clear it sometimes it would stay off a week or so. Lately been coming on sooner. Never runs rough and no loss of power. Calling dealer today. Sure it's a head problem. Throws PO302 code.|

|Yellow_Fox||Yeah I talked to the dealer today and thy said its covered under the 3 years 36,000 mile warranty. And I scheduled an appointment at a different deal that had it in stock. For Thursday, I haven't noticed any drop in mpg or rough idling the only rough idling I've noticed is when the car is warming up.|
|08-12-2013 05:30 AM|
I had noticed some rough idling a few weeks prior to the CEL light coming on - so the valve was possibly sticking then, but not causing enough misfires to trigger the CEL.
As for the backorder - I had mine done last week, and it only took a few days for them to get the head (I'm in So. Westchester - not too far from No. Jersey). Perhaps try another dealer?

|Yellow_Fox||Hey I'm having the same problem with mine. The dealership I went to was truthful about it but also has a waiting period of three weeks and the part is also on back order. Do you guys know what's the worst that can happen with me driving my jeep. Also my jeep has almost 18,000 miles, do you guys know if its still covered under warranty? Thanks|

|perkalater79||For a lower profit margin vehicle, can you blame them for trying to save a buck by trying to software reset?|
|08-03-2013 09:32 PM|
Amazing that the dealers also pretend that a software "reflash" will fix a mechanical misfire when you walk in, most likely knowing full well that you'll be back shortly.
God I hate those shady lying stealerships...they not only steal your money but your time and sanity.
Funny how I never had any issues with Infiniti, Acura, or Lexus dealerships, though. The service makes you want to go there...though you probably won't ever have to.

|Xena1||The dealers have learned to lie from Obama! Chrysler sent me an email saying there is no known problem with the 2012 Wrangler cylinder heads! So like Obama we should agree.!NOT!|
