rclark Well...So much for plan "A". OK...,Let's go to plan "B" ....Go to the hardware store and pick up some good weather striping with a sticky side, and put it across the top of the header. Build it up as needed or spend the $150.00 to replace...OK....But, the header cost $150 and the dealer took all morning to install mine, I can't amagin the out the door total cost if you havn't got the warrenty.

jtaylor929 That would have been nice; unfortunately I called and the dealer said only if it was under warranty. AND Chrysler is one of the only car manufacturers that do not pass the warranty onto second owners.

rclark The dealer replaced my 2008 plasic header for the metal one for free last year. Bring it back to the dealer and tell them there is a ( TSB #23-010-09 REV. "A") recall , and they should take care of you. It makes a big difference with the noise.

jtaylor929 Yeah, just replaced the bow. Cost about $150. Also put on a foam kit at the top corner of the doors closet to the front. Had a huge storm here last night and fixed my water leak. That and I did notice a lot of the wind sound is gone.

Ajax333333 I live on AZ so I get how the 100+ temps can do some damage. Thanks for the information. I'll will keep an eye on mine. Are you going to replace the top or just the bow? I guess my questions is... can you replace just the bow?

jtaylor929 Well, I was able to do a little more research, and apparently the 07 and 08 came with a plastic header bow and that the bow is known to warp. The guy who is repairing my other weather stripping problems was able to take a popsicle stick and stick it freely between the top and the windshield so I am sure it is. And I am sure that 100+ degree weather for almost a month straight now has not helped matters much. Oh well, I also read that the metal ones were suppose to limit some of the air notice on road so I guess we will see what happens. I will keep you posted.

Ajax333333 I have the 07 and haven't heard or noticed that. Though come to think of it, i do notice that it is getting harder to latch on the passanger side. I assumed (and still hope) it was due to putting it up in a little colder weather.

warped front bow?

Anyone else have a 07 wrangler and ever heard of the front bow (where the top clamps down on the windshield) warping? I was told on the 07 that it was made of plastic and that mine was wrapped and needed to be replaced with a metal one? Sorry if this is a common thread. At work and can't search it right now.
