rrich The stock box is too restrictive at the higher R's and WOT.

Most ANY free flowing intake will be better - enough so you can feel it. To feel it the increase has to be almost 5%.

You can use the original duct, cut it off, and fit a K&N on it.

You can buy a metal one - short or long.

The "cold air" - the difference is negligible. Sure high HP race cars do it, but not through a long duct like that. Look at the way do it, entirely different! Even then, at 900 HP it could add an extra 2 or 3, HP, it's not felt, but it can make the difference in winning. If you need to increase your ET by .0003 sec, consider it.

There are lots of "dyno proven" High Performance things out there - the "high performance" is their profits, not your Jeep.

For the squeal on that one, try positioning it slightly different. If it's just when cold, it's your IAC.

I have had mine on for almost a month and trust me... you can absolutely hear and feel the difference. I labored over whether to put an intake on or not for a while, but the AEM came with too many kudos to ignore.. It is a great mod and really peps the engine up.

Timberman AEM BRUTE FORCE... Accept no substitute! I have a i6, but it sure woke that engine up!

You can only hear it when you really give it gas.. Has a nice little rumble, but not annoying.

Check it:

dweebster i am not sure but this is what i have

AIRAID Premium Filter Company has found a way to boost the horsepower and torque of the 2.5L four-banger by developing an all-new Cool Air Dam intake for the 97-02 Jeep Wrangler. AIRAID's Cool Air Damn system for the 2.5L TJ features a full-length intake tube and a computer-designed Cool Air Dam which is designed to isolate engine heat away from the air inlet and provide cool, fresh air to the engine.

air intake

sure do. I did mine the cheap way. get rid of the horn on your intake box and enlarge the hole with either a dremel tool or a sharp utility knife. And then I bought a used K&N air filter.

Hey fellas i have a Airaid intake with a +44 exhaust system and honestly now i am getting a headache cause the intake gives of such a highpitch sound. I was wondering if anyone knows or even exists but a quieter sounding intake system that can offer a better air flow then stock intake? And if so about how much and where can i purchase one... thank you
