JoeMueller So, I received and installed the pins. Perfection!

I am childish enough that I want to call the dealers that told me that this was impossible, but maybe I'll wait for the next time they try to rip my off.

WeekenderATX Just bought the Dorman kit above on Amazon for 3 bucks. Fits TJ too...

JoeMueller Thanks terpsmandan. That is exactly the information that I was looking for. I just ordered mine. I am assuming that they will do the trick.

terpsmandan Dorman 38447 is the hinge pin kit that is supposed to fit YJ's. I am considering getting a set before winter BC i snapped the ends off of both pass side pins when I removed the nuts to take the doors off. Cheap too.

JoeMueller I am going to compare the hinge pin from a 1998 Wrangler to the one that I managed to remove from my 2000 Wrangler. If it fits, I am using that instead of getting an entire hinge assembly.

WeekenderATX I broke one of my half door hinge pins taking them off. Too much torque, not enough pb blaster. Damn. Other three came off easy. Do I have to buy a whole hinge set now? I'd rather knock the pin out and just use a steel bolt and nut if I can.

LawMoose Sounds like they broke good. When my doors were stuck I beated on the pin with a hammer and it never came out. There not suppose to probably that is way no one carries them

JoeMueller Quadratec is telling me that they can't even find just the pins. This seems really odd to me since I was able to remove mine without having to take off the entire hinge assembly.

LawMoose Yeah, the pins are press in and I could never found just the pin when I broke mine.

TJspeed from the looks and sounds of it your gonna have to buy the hinge as well.

JoeMueller Because the ones that I have are badly corroded and in some cases damaged.

TJspeed Why do you need new ones?

Door hinge pins on a 2000 Wrangler

I need to get new door hinge pins on my 2000 Wrangler (full doors). I got the old pins out. They look exactly like the pins from a 1998 Wrangler.

When I go to any auto parts retailers, or the dealers, I am told that there is no such replacement without purchasing the entire hinge assembly (which I do not need or want). In fact, I am told that the pins cannot be removed, even though I removed them OK.

I am rather confused here about what to do. Any advise?
