Don't be jealous...(Now with pic)

...be happy for me! THOUSAND DOLLAR YJ SCORE!

From the top I suppose? My wife has wanted a Wrangler or CJ since before we got hitched, just couldn't justify 4k or more for a third vehicle that will not fit our entire family (during the summer we have 5 kids here, school year it's back down to one). A few weeks ago I was delivering furniture (moonlight money) and the guy has this 91 yj sitting in his garage. He says the water pump went out a month or so ago and he hasn't had the time/money to fix it. Then his wife says "DON'T LET HIM LIE TO YOU, THAT THING HASN'T MOVED IN 6 MONTHS!!!". So, almost as a joke I tell them both "I'll give you a grand for it right now." We all kind of laughed and I went home. The next day he calls me and asks if I was serious, told him i was, if I could come take a closer look.

After checking it out the next day, I decided that it was really JUST the water pump, paid him, then drove it home with a bad pump (less than 2 miles)

Found a pump for less than 30 and the next day I'm driving it to work!

To top it all off, it's rust free, brand new top, and 95% tread on stock size Uniroyals. Looks like it's never been lifted, or been seriously off road.

WIN!

She's been driving it for about 2 weeks now, no other problems after doing a little routine preventive maintenance. It's a 4 banger with a 5 speed. I'll be snooping around looking for ideas for economical ways to squeeze bigger tires, lift it, and add/remove other things that I think are important.

Pics coming soon.
