its possible to get 10 to 15 more ponies out of the 4banger but it wont be noticeable. Your best option in my opinion is researching gearing options for the 4 cyc engine

its better all around, more power, and better fuel mileage with more towing capability

NickDanger Is anything other then a 4.0l really necessary?

I guess there is a certain "my d**k is bigger then yours" factor to it, but I mean really, it's a Jeep. If you have deep pockets dump it into other upgrades.

gavinboomer93 You could run a cold air intake and possibly upgrade to a larger throttle body for power.

I have ARB front and rear air lockers. There are other kinds. Upgrade to chromoly axle shafts you shouldnt have to worry about your rear end.

Your best bet is to buy a Jeep with a 4.0.

And lockers? Your gonna need to beef up youw d35 or replace it with a d44 or 8.8 before you think about lockers

I purchased my tj about 1 year ago. I hav always wanted a jeep. Not knowing much about 4wheeling or jeeps I bought a 97 with a 4-cylinder n no lockers. What are my options 2 get more power and lockers?
