|Reznor||It isn't bad gas, and I'd be surprised if it was your TPS which probably wouldn't cause an issue on only one cylinder. The suggestion of switching up the injectors is your best bet. Move #2 to #1 or #3, and see if the code moves. If it does, you need a new injector.|

|A_Jeeper||I would think PCM or wiring issue before injector being it's an intermittent problem. You could swap your #2 with another and see if the code changes. That way you don't waste $$$ if it's not the injector.|

I wish I could help you more, but to make things a little easier (in case you don't know) you can check your engine codes by turning the key to auxilary on and off three times. It will show the code on your dash. Then you can look it up online. Saves a trip to the auto store.
Clear it by disconnecting your battery for a few minutes.
Anyway, goodluck in chasing it down.

|colorubi||Definately try a new injector on that cylinder. Borrow one or get a single replacement to try first. If it solves the problem, then you may want to get a complete set of new ones.|

|timothy||ok i checked all the wire that go to injector 2. i unplug it to check the plug part that goes to injector 2 it looks fine. plus i checked all the other injector wire connection. it all seem fine. when i was done looking at connections, i go to turn on jeep, the check engine light turned off. i thought i fix the problem. until 50 miles down the road the engine light comes on. this time it felt like the jeep did not want to go. i had to press on the gas a bit. it kind of felt like i was in a high gear or something. the engine felt ruff. after 1/2 a mile it went back to normal. i think im just going to replace injector 2, see if that fix the problem. what do anybody else think and be the problem.|

I second having a good look at the injector connector and its contacts. Be sure the connector is completely fastened to the injector (snapped completely on) Check the wiring closely especially at the connector end for cracking or cuts. Is the insulation broken off or peeling? Check the injector for electrical failure.
This code is indicating an electrical circuit function problem on that one injector only. Don't go looking for Zebras when you are trying to find a horse.

P0202 (M) Injector #2 Control Circuit An open or shorted condition detected in control circuit for injector #2 or the INJ 2 injector bank
Straight from Chrysler TechConnect. I work in parts so I can't help much more than this. Might be a bad connection like thorn4570 had, especially if it's intermittent.

|thorn4570||Mine did the same thing but would throw a fuse every time and wouldn't start. I looked for a short for hours then my wife came out and said look at that. On my injector one of the wires going to the injector plug was bent and had some insulation missing. I cleaned wrapped it and bam it worked.|

2001 jeep wrangler sport is throwing code p0202
can someone help me to day i was driving and out of the blue my engine light came on. so i went to auto parts to get code checked and the guy printed out a receipt with the code p0202 on it. it say
fuel injector circuit condition- injector number 2
explanation- the powertrain control module monitors the fuel injector electrical circuit for open, shorts and system overload conditions.
(1)open or shorted fuel injectors
(2)open or short in electrical circuit
(3)high fuel pressure - pressure regulator defective- fuel return line blocked
(4)check TPS and circuit for failure
I dont get what this said's. should i buy a new TPS do i have bad gas. can someone tell me how to fix this problem
