baer_18837 so with the little metal part on the soft top that goes into the zipper 2 start it being unatached from the top is not a big deal? just try lube and be extra careful?all the other tabs are ok exept that one and i dont know how 2 get it into the zipper straight.

richp The drivers side is a bigger PIA than the passenger side for sure. When I put my tops up I keep the rear corners in their slots, pull the top up and over and then just start the front clamps, I don't tighten them the final click. I also do not put those two plastic clips in that go over the doors either, this gives you a bit more play room when getting the zipper started. I usually put my hip against the bottom of the window so it does not drop while starting the zipper. Also make sure the zipper is well lubricated, jeep sells a small bottle of lube with a squeeze brush applicator. No, you are not alone or imaging things. Just exercise care so you don't damage it. Oh, once I get about 1-2" of zipper started I put the plastic clips on the window into the surround slots behind the door. The very last thing I do is pull the front clips tight.

2002 wrangler x driver side rear window

first of all i would like 2 say hello 2 everyone here and i hope you can give me a little insight on my problem. yesterday i decided 2 put the top down so my 5 year old son see what it looked like and take him for a ride after we returned it was colder and i understand it is hard 2 put the top back on after it shrinks a bit. as i got 2 putting the driverside rear back window in i took the window and made sure the zipper was in it proper place as the driver side zipper is on the window itself the little metal stud on the top you slide into the zipper 2 make it work seamed 2 be unattached from the fabric making it extreamly hard 2 get the window 2 start zipping. my question is there any way fix this problem or am i just going 2 have 2 struggle 2 get this side on forever. i was more than an hour trying and hoping it would fall in place sence it was not conected. any help would be great thank you for your time.
