chezuki You'll need to remove both the frame and all the belt rails including the windshield channel. You can use the same nuts/bolts to mount the hardtop that were used to mount the belt rails, but I replaced the bolts with a thumb-screw type from the hardware store to make it easier. As far as weatherstripping, they make over priced "kits" specifically for this task, but your best bet is to spend a couple bucks for a roll of 3/4" foam weatherstrip tape and cut it to size.

first time jeep owner questions about tops

I bought a 92 with both tops. The soft top is a bestop and has a frame that looks like I need to remove to put on the hard top. Can someone tell me if i need to remove this? also, what else to i need for the hard top, any sort of weatherstripping? Last, do I just put it in place and screw it on?
