JerryJeepster Drilled and slotted rotors on a jeep is senseless, IMO. A drilled rotor is more likely to Crack at high temps and holds onto mud as it will cake and dry in the holes. Come on, it's not a high performance vehicle. Too funny!

I was able to flip the numbers to the correct combination, open the drawer and grab my firearm all while sitting in the driver seat this morning. I was sitting in my apartment's parking lot, not driving. I don't think I was buckled in though. I'll have to try again with the seat belt on.

I wouldn't consider myself tall at 5'11" so I don't think my arms are exceptionally long. My GF's dad, who is same height, drove my Jeep this weekend and put the seat back further than I had it, so I don't sit too far back either. I do drive with the steering wheel all the way up though.

Edit: I don't really carry the firearm for use while driving around. The main reason I have it is for when I go to the beach or some other place where help may not be nearby. Back when I was in high school (I'm 30 now) some buddies and I were hanging out at Crystal Beach (near Galveston) when some shady characters tried to jump us. Fortunately some others saw what was going on and helped scare the thugs off.

I don't go to Crystal Beach anymore, but I do like to have the gun with me in case something like that happens again. I don't have my conceal carry yet, but I am allowed to carry a firearm in my vehicle here in Texas. I need to get on that though....

I have one to store mine when I go places where there's no carry. All other times it's on me. Way too hard to access the box.

TexasAg06 Last night I installed a black combination cam lock on my Bestop under seat lock box. The correct size is 5/8" and was only about $11 on amazon.

The lock that came with the box did not always open easily. Sometimes I would have to jiggle the key for a couple of minutes before I could finally get it unlocked. This is a huge problem for me since I carry my handgun in the lock box.

The other benefit is now I can have the box closed and unlocked at the same time. With the original lock you could not close the box and keep the drawer from sliding out with it unlocked.

as of right now no. there was the little metal tab that holds the brake line to the frame and it was cutting into my treads on my sidewall. Waiting till after work to mess with it more

I'm wondering how compression of the tire (i.e. tire pressure) affects the setting. If you think about it, regardless of tire pressure, the same length of rubber has to contact the road per revolution, meaning the distance traveled per revolution is the circumference of the tire. If you take the tire off and change its pressure, the circumference would not noticeably change (due to the structure of the tire).

That said, my FlashCal says the tire size is 31.75, which matches my measured height of my stock tires on the vehicle, and my speedo matches GPS-measured speed. I didn't measure side-to-side to see how different that was, though.

I guess it depends how the FlashCal is programmed to interpret what you input and compensates that the tires are installed and at "correct" pressure?
I see what you're saying about the length of rubber on the tire not changing and it has me scratching my head. My original thinking was that the rolling radius is less than 1/2 of the diameter measured from ground to top of tire and that would affect my circumference. This seemed logical at the time, but sounds like it may be incorrect. Perhaps the variation has something to do with how FlashCal works.

In any case, for anyone that is going to use the FlashCal, definitely check your speedometer's accuracy using GPS (not your in-dash GPS!) or one of those helpful police radars you may see around town. Where I live it is mostly flat so I played with the FlashCal inputs until both my speedometer and odometer (on a 100-mile trip) were within 1%.

Ha. I Wonder what kind of the death wobble, wiggle, or shimmy happens after 100 mph?!?
