|x98cobra||Now which kinda mounting plate do i need?? i looked some up and warn has a universal one, but does that mean it only fits warn winches?? I wanted a mounting plate that would fit any brand, is there one out there like that?|

|x98cobra||ya thats virtually what i meant, i seen pics on here that guys had stock bumpers. but didnt know if there had to be a modification to mount one, now i know thanks guy|

get a winch plate and drop it on the stock bumper. Works great and saves weight.

|whiteyj||X2 on the winch mounting plate. It has nothing to do with the front bumper. The winch mounts to the plate which bolts to the frame not the bumper.|

|slf41002||If you are talking about the front bumper alone NO!The bumper by itself is not strong enough to hold the strain from a winch or what a winch can pull.You will need a mounting plate for the winch that bolts to the frame with the same four upper bolts that the bumper is held on by.The plate will set back front the bumper some and is solid steel instead of cold roll like the bumper.|

stock front bumper for winch mount?
can i mount a winch on the stock front bumper and be ok??
