Sneaking in here from the JK thread. (don't tell 'em). Had 5 CJ's prior. Plus 1 Willys (Korean War) and 1 YJ. Got 2013 Jk now. Just want to throw out an old pict. of one of mine. A 78 CJ7. Sorry 'bout the grain as it is an old polaroid. Still got a soft spot for 'em. Especially the CJ 5

Same here. I'm running 35 x 12.5 Wild Country Radials and I really like them, but need to get my gear ratio straightened out. I'm showing 70 and getting 60. Gas is also guzzling and I can smell it. Running a high idle as well. i feel like I can just see it draining....

New to forum

Hi! I brought my '77 CJ-7 (Beast) back to DC for the summer and would love to take it out somewhere to give it a good proper introduction to the area. Any events upcoming?

Nice mderick! Some people get upset with 3A windshields on 2A's but I like them and from a functional standpoint, it's a much better design.

It gets a little hard to handle once I get about 60 mpg due to the 33' swampers but she's a champ. I only take her to class to show her off. But my buddy has a 98 TJ with 33's but only a 4 cylinder with an automatic transmission, he gets about 13-14 highway.

I've got a overdrive tranny but that's offset with a v8, gears and tires. I would expect a cj on 31" tires with a 258 would get maybe 14-15 mpg. Of course my TJ only gets about 12-13mpg. Again not a good average example. How far you driving?
I have to drive approx 70 miles round trip a day on the thruway in New York. So another thing I have to worry about is rust and frame rot
