I did get the ProCal programmer and it reprogrammed the spedo, MPG monitor and odometer perfectly on the first try. Easy to use, took five minutes or less. Great gadget, didn't seem to change the tranmission shift points, but maybe too early to tell. The ProCal has a module for regearing, but I did not input my gears because I did not regear. Wonder if you have to program your gear ratio (4:10) to change the shift points. I'll have to give them a call. Either way, it was well worth the $150.00.

steve1ddd i have seen it hold a gear longer then what i would deem normal on occassion. i just hit the manual + once to get it to shift up.

Thwopking On flat land that's normal shifting....but do the same thing on a hill with. Decent incline and it would shift much later.

12JKUR I'll have to try that. Mine changes from 1st to 2nd at about 3K, 2nd to 3rd at about 1200, which is rather annoying at times.

As a result I always just put my peddle to the metal and it changes all gears at 6G's

Thwopking Have it looked at ...but honestly sounds about normal to me. its natural to hold a gear longer while going uphill...if it didnt it would upshift then have to down shift again to maintain speed based on your throttle input. Why does it happen only on take off's on a hill...well if you are already rolling and go up hill its easier to maintain speed...you may not even be noticing the slight downshift.

2012 jk auto trans hangs in 2nd gear

I have a 2012 JK two door Rubicon with auto transmission. Wondering if anyone has this problem: When accelerating up a hill from a dead stop, the transmission seems to take forever to shift out of second gear - won't shift until about 4500- 5000 RPM. Now I did go with 35" tires recently, but the tranny did this same thing before I changed tires. Does not happen going downhill, flat streets or other driving conditions - only uphill from a dead stop. Should I just ignore it or take it to the dealer? Any info would be appreciated.
