I bought my Jeep for the sole purpose of it being a "play-around" vehicle, but I can't really find anywhere to play around with it. It's great to go topless and doorless and just cruise, but I want something more engaging. You won't believe how excited I got when there was a tree down in one of the more traveled trails. I got to pull out the tow strap, drop down into 4 low, engage the lockers and pull that (rather large tree) out of the road.

Got any suggestions for what kind of courses/obstacles you'd like to see put together? What places have you been that you've particularly enjoyed and why? I'm probably going to go to North Georgia during December and try to ride some mountain trails. I was thinking of going to Durhamtown this week, but it's been raining constantly here in Hinesville. I'm not interested in running my 4-month old Rubi through many mud pits.
Have a great Thanksgiving!

I would be interested.

Let me ask for your perspective on something.
Since I bought my Jeep I've been frustrated not having any place to go off-road that has real obstacles to crawl. Something beyond dirt roads (plenty of those on Fort Stewart) and mud. I've looked as far as Orlando, Florida to North Georgia, and have found nothing between but HardRock Park in Ocala, FL and Durhamtown in Georgia. Both take 3.5 hours to get to and are too far for a day-trip.
If I were to purchase land and build a quality off-road site for Jeeps and 4-Wheelers, motocross bikes, etc., here, somewhere in the southern part of Georgia, would you pay money to ride that course regularly, if you considered it to be of sufficient quality, challenge, and fun?
Thanks for taking time to consider this. I've been thinking about making this investment for months, but haven't done any research to find out how much interest there may be in our area for a place to ride that is open to the public.

|firefighteremt742||There are a few places to ride in Richmond Hill but I wouldn't risk it until hunting season is over. It seems everyone in Richmond Hill owns a Jeep. I know why they are popular but you have to travel to get on a trail.|

Will do, firefighteremt742!
Any place around our area to ride some trails with hills/obstacles, etc?

We usually go down to RH nearly every weekend to check on our house (currently building). There are a lot of Jeeps in the area. We stopped by the LCMR event a couple weeks ago, but only stayed a few minutes.

Here's another new Jeep entry...
I just got mine back in July. I really enjoy driving it, but haven't been able to take it off-road much, since I live in Hinesville, GA (near Savannah) and their's no place to ride off-road down here!
Anyone have any suggestions for off-roading in South Georgia / North Florida?
It's 3.5 hours north from here to Durhamtown, GA and 3.5 hours south to Hardrock Park, Ocala, FL!
I need some place to ride with some obstacles! Looking for more than just mud.

I purchased her in mid-July. I haven't done any hardware mods, just added necessarily equipment for the trail - first aid kit, assortment of tow straps, shovel, 2x fire extinguishers
I have years of experience wheeling, but not in a jeep. This is my first Wrangler.
Shots from my drive home from work today.
Had to stop and remove a fallen log from the trail. You can see the piece of terrain that I skirted past right before stopping.
Hooked up with a looped tow strap and ready to pull! I probably should have reversed how I hooked up to the front bumper to get a more aggressive pulling angle.
Another shot of the washed out trail that I passed previously.
Pulled the fallen tree back about 10 feet, enough to pass through... I think!
Flexing after unhooking from the log before rolling off.
Not too tight of a squeeze!
