sonofabeach When I first got my Jeep I was with my buddy who owned Jeeps all his life.
When I went to drop the top he suggested we roll up the back window in the straps and just from that one time that sum b!tch got all scratched/blurred up.

RokleM I attempted rolling 5-6 times on the 2000 TJ I purchased (without the bar), and I could never get it tight enough to fit the dinky straps. I just put two large sections of velcro over the bar and use that instead.

GGA1759 My windows already have marks on them from the factory straps, so I don't see how these are any worse. =D

2002x True. That happened on my 2000 Sahara but if you are on the road and dont want to have to remove the window completely and have no place to store it, there aren't many options.

p-rev i used the straps on my first jeep and rolling it up ruined the window. the straps leave lines down the window and i wouldn't use them again.

2002x Thanks for the link. For the money, that seems like the way to go.

GGA1759 Oh sweet. Looks like a nice job on those.
I have a 2000 TJ Sport and the straps are so strechted out. I might just have to get a pair. Thanks for the link.

dbbd1 Here is the link but if you think about it, they are really easy to DIY. These are not expensive though.

Rear Window Straps

dbbd1 I know someone, somewhere just posted a link to a guy that makes them, but you could do it yourself. I did. I had one left over, un-used snap on each side of my support at the rear window. Get yourself some 1" wide nylon webbing and snaps (5/8" I believe) from your local craft store and make your own. No pic's but I put a female snap at the end of the strap measured out about 8" then put a male there and another female at the other end. Not very clear, I know, but think of it this way...

I snap the strap onto the support, roll up the window, bring the strap around it, then snap it to itself (a couple of inches down from where it snaps to the support)

Soft top rear window straps

The guy that had my wrangler before me put the top down when he got it and was a third vehicle so it hasn't been up since. Needless to say it was tight getting back on.

One problem I encountered when I wanted to lower the top back down today was the straps that hold the rolled up rear window are gone. I went by the dealer and they had no listing for them and checked quadratec's site with no luck either. Any suggestions on where I could get these?
