Miggles Was talking to a guy at the drive-thru window at Carls Jr. He asked me if I had been out four wheeling (fresh mud all over) and I was like "hell yeah, got stuck for about 30 minutes too." He then asked if I had a 4wd or rwd. When I said 4wd he proceeded to claim that he didn't know 4wds could get stuck, and went on to tell me had a 4wd civic (are those a thing?) that went through mud up to the top of the door…
Sure (:

Holton345 Some stupid kid wanted to race me last week. I sat there glaring at him and raced my 4.0L in neutral at the light and really get him worked up. When it turned green I took off at my normal, leisurely pace, the kid took off in his Mustang...

... and the cop right behind him in the "bald" Dodge Charger Police Pursuit ran him down and ticketed him up ahead.

The officer waved me over in front of the kid as I poked along up towards them.

"Sir, baiting a kid to commit a moving violation is just about as bad as committing it yourself."

I said, "Yeah, and it was freaking hilarious, too. What sort of parent raises a kid to think you race in a jeep?"

The cop sort of looked at me, then laughed and said, "Great rig! I have a Chili Pepper Red TJ. See you on the trails!" and waved me on.

The kid was really steaming in his pony car as he heard this exchange shouted between the cop and myself. He flipped me off. The cop saw it and wrote him up for that, too.

I smiled the rest of the day!

I had a manager that would deliberately call my Jeep a car. I knew him for a while so I would occasionally ask him how his shins were and then promptly "tap" them with my steel toe boots. That'll learn ya, I'd always say.

Holton345 I am a musician. I play professionally in a symphony orchestra. I also have a teaching program that takes me out to the poor schools in the Mississippi Delta region. I try to impart the same basic knowledge about instruments and how they sound and work that kids in Jackson get every year due to the contract my orchestra has with JPS. In these poor schools most of the kids have never seen or heard real musical instruments in person; ever.

Frequently I roll up to these schools in the TJ or the JK. Sometimes the wife's Honda or my old Volvo are in the rotation. It just depends.

I go to four schools during each school year, one half-day per week to each school.

Some of these schools have only 150 kids K-12, so the faculty parking lots are pretty small and the kids know every car that is supposed to be there.

My first day of classes invariably ends with me hauling my stuff out the door with some class lined up in the hall - rarely one of my own classes - and them getting in trouble for making all sorts of noise in the hallway. This noise is almost always many kids calling out stuff like, "Hey, missuh! I like yo' jeep! Dat jeep be TIGHT! Dat SICK! I can have a ride in it?"

Then WHAP, WHAP, WHAP with the ruler on the backs of hands as teachers admonish the kids to be quite in the hallway. As I open the door one of the adults will say something like, "My daddy had a jeep like that when I was just a kid. I loved that jeep. See you next week!"

Everyone likes jeeps.

Klutz Randomly some older guy walks up to me in a grocery market parking lot while I'm trying to sell tires on craigslist to another guy...

"Is that a rubicon?"
-Confused why there's someone trying to talk to me other than my buyer
"Uhh, no, it's a standard TJ."
"Is that a rubicon??"
"No it's standard."
"Is that a rubicon?"
"What?"
"RUBICON!"
"...."
"...."
"The trail or the model?"
"Trail"
"Oh, no, I've never been."
"Ok."
-He walks away into the distance
-I continue to sell some tires

That was when I first got my Jeep, and didn't realize people would come out of the woodworks to tell you they once owned a jeep or even saw one driving down the road once.

FiteClub ha! love it!

Sometimes when I pass a cop on traffic duty who is monitoring speeds I look down at my speedometer. Then I remember I'm driving my Jeep - no way I'm speeding!

eDoSimply Just a Cop Story and a Tj
Im calling it
I got laid sober
or The Tj and The Cop
A few years back when i was single and full of money, i had my first TJ out for the night on the town on a hot Chicago summer. Some how or another i ended up on a late date clubbing in the suburb of Schaumburg ( not that fun of a place due to the police and lack of stuff to do out side of a mall). On the way home from this lovely establishment i find my self stuck in a DUI road block. Now the fact it was hot as balls and i knew i would be out with no doors and topless with my one foot out the vehicle, i chose not to drink. I also was waiting to be questioned with the biggest smile as the cops were pulling every one out of their cars. To my surprise, the cops waves me by like nothing. So instead of driving on my happy way with this miserable drunk woman, i decided to stop and ask " hey why didn't you pull me overt" and with out missing a beat the cop goes " you cant be that fucking dumb to drive that car out here and be drunk plus"
The only time i appreciated an officers honesty.
I still smile thinking about that story.

I was one of those guys who sold his 1999 Jeep... back in 2002. Ten years later I bought it back...this time with a 4.0 engine.

I don't think I would have sold it if I would have (and could have afforded) bought one with the 4.0 in the first place.

Jay_Hawker The first day I rolled up to work in my jeep my boss said, "what are you, a super hero?" Most of the time people either ask me how I get in it or just tell me that they've always wanted one and are jealous.

Holton345 Had a cop let me through a checkpoint after he quizzed me on my lift. He said, "Well, I roll on Currie, so I should take you to jail for that Metalcloak stuff you're running. But my partner here runs Metalcloak, so I have to let you go. Consider yourself warned. Have a good day, sir."

BAHAHAHA!!!

Focke Wulf Happened this past summer and I forgot to post this on here....

First time I had the doors off, no side mirrors. Was at the gas station inside paying for gas then a cop pulls up next to my Jeep. I then leave the store...

"is this your Jeep?"

"yes sir."

"why do you not have any doors on?"

"Because its fun..."

At this time I'm worried about getting a ticket.

"you know with any car that doesn't have side mirrors is illegal."

"I know"

"I could write you a ticket but I will not. My brother has a Jeep and it's a blast to ride without the doors. Just make sure you double check when you're merging. Have a good day."

He drives away. What the hell just happened I said to myself?

Blackjack608 I had a guy once come up to me at a gas station as I was filling up once say "valet? (I worked valet over the summer and was filling up before work wearing my shirt) I see you're taking a car for a joy ride, at least you're filling it up for them" which then I said "it's actually mine, people around here are too lazy to drive a stick". This guy wouldn't leave me alone until I left just asking all about my jeep and saying how he loves them how you can take everything off and how he loves the wind yadayadayada. It was funny though lol

I run into that, too. And then the "that's nice paint for 10 years old." That color doesn't ever look faded.

I guess there's just not that many around, many people have never seen it before....
