|foxinthemudd||from what I've heard is the heim? joints go out really easy and the bushings wear out prematurely (I think that was the problem). I don't recall 100% though.|

|foxinthemudd||no got the short arm kit. but it was a deal I just couldn't pass up. from talking to off road shops and looking at prices of the LA kits I decided with the terrain around here I didn't really need a LA kit.|

|Rubigoddess||I got my lift 5 years ago. I've HEARD that the lifts have gotten better. I'm just saying that my experience hasn't been all that great. Did you get the Long Arm kit? I know those are considerably better.|

Personally.....if I could do the lift over again, I'd steer far far away from Rubicon Express!
I've had nothing but problems with my lift and the company is willing to help out AT ALL.....I've called them several times and have not received anything in response.
I would go with nth degree!

Northridge4x4 Jeep Parts Online Store
Check it out!

|jlp198||Thanks guys for the great advise, I will check it out. Yeah there is a 4 wheel accessories shop down the street but it's a little intimidating going in there because I know just enough to sound stupid..haha. Prob is, even if I get the parts cheap online I would have to get someone to install them. I have a pretty good hookup at a Jeep dealership but I know they can be out the roof with labor prices. I am not even sure they will install parts that aren't purchased from them.|

|foxinthemudd||totally agree with boom. I delt with them only a few times when I really needed a part and they really were the best deal. I don't usually do business with them unless I can't find something cheaper... usually. but don't take my word find out for yourself and explore your options.|

check out rubicon express for your lift. google the website look around and then give those guys a call. tell them what you want to accomplish and they'll help you out without the pressure to BUY NOW! they are super cool. at least that's my opinion. like zack said...look around on the net. there are good deals to be had. and buy direct when ya can. there are a lot of 4x4 shops around the area to have things installed. if ya don't wanna do it yourself.
i personally echo zack's comments on 4wheelparts. i've also had experiences with the local shop that left a bad taste in my mouth. but, they are a one stop shop...with some great deals that are hard to turn down. i'm was happily surprised to read yellow dogs's post about his experience. let's me know there's still hope for them.

I had work done at 4 Wheel Parts on NE 82, Portland. I had Old Man Emu springs put in. They left out the rear spring spacers which caused me some problems but they stood by their work. They paid the cost of work I had done at the Jeep dealer and the cost of the tow that resulted by leaving out the spacer. And they did install the spacers free of charge. This impressed me. They also install my exhaust header. I have also purchased part from them and had the parts shipped directly to me. This saved me a trip from Beaverton.
Their website is Lift Kits, Winches, Tires, & Wheels by 4 Wheel Parts
I have also order parts from Jeep Parts, Jeep Accessories & Jeep Soft Tops From The Jeep Parts Experts - Quadratec and Jeep Parts, Jeep Accessories, and Jeep Tops by 4 Wheel Drive Hardware ? Your Jeep Parts Source.

what I would do is just look online. I get most of my parts ordered off different sites. found a few things on ebay brand new and got really good deals on them. mostly just do your research on the parts you may find a really good deal as far as price goes but when it comes down to shipping... OUCH. 4wheelparts.com is an ok place to shop but the stores around here in my experience the guys are just A**holes. I know you have some off road shops out there in clackamas go and ask them as many questions as you can.
oh and I'm Zack welcome to the madness.

So where's the best place to get parts? I want to start adding some accessories, ie brush guard possibly with a winch..some light covers and a few other things. I have to save up for the lift..

Come on Oregon, it's been a while
I see it's been a while since anyone posted a thread. I just moved back home to Oregon from North Carolina. I had a Jeep Patriot for about a year and realized it wasn't for me. So I bought a 2006 Jeep Wrangler X. I love it. I wanna do a 4 in lift and some other things but I am very new to this. Would love to start a new chat with some experienced Jeepers. Thanks hope to hear from ya'll soon.
