Up Hill Bill I used Barge Cement (it's used to glue on soles of shoes, etc. Holds like the dickens) after removing the adhesive tape with naphtha.

And, don't cinch down the cable ties too tight, just good and snug. No adhesive will hold against constant, heavy tension, especially when it gets hot. Don't ask how I know this...

I second all this, summer heat + wind takes them right off. I took the sticky rubber off mine and used 2 part epoxy to mount them and had no problem since.

Duplicate thread but I posted this in the other:

MichiganJeepster Most guys seem to be gorilla glueing the tie strap brackets for security. Still deciding how I am going to do mine.
