Super Jeep When getting an oil change and you hear the tech yell from the pit, "ahh why are there so many of these damn things!" Talking about the zirk fittings. Lol

LI-LJ One of the best thing's I've heard so far was from a friend of mine. We were discussing some mods to do to my LJ and he simply said, "I wouldn't change anything, it's the perfect vehicle the way it is." I couldn't agree more with him.

Midman03 While I was getting an oil change today I had the doors off and another customer (getting work done on his Toyota) walked up to me and said "damn I would love to drive that around today in this weather." I chuckled and said "thank you but she's mine." Made me think if he had one in his garage at home.

Talking to a chick tonight who had no idea they made the LJ. She's talking about how she wants an unlimited and I'm like 2 or 4 door, she responds "they only make four door" I point to my tj and say they make this model with a 10 inch longer wheelbase. They look on her face was priceless

Dragonii Ask him what he's doing with his Taco on National topless day when you take your top and doors off and drive off with your foot out the side to hang out with hundreds of fellow jeepers.

orange_sport_4.0 I was talking to a neighbor the other day who owns a completely stock 2013 Toyota Tacoma. I started talking about how nice my Jeep is to drive in the snow and he said: "Well, my truck can do everything your jeep can do, plus it can haul stuff". I just nodded.

No joke, i lost my key to my jeep and had to call a locksmith. He spent 20 minutes sitting in the jeep looking confused. I finally asked what the issue was. He said "i think i cut it wrong, it turns but i cant get it back out"

freonburn Funny story from when I was searching for my TJ:

I was on Craigslist or Cars.com and found a dealership with a ridiculous deal for a YJ ($2500 96k miles) and took my wife to go check it out. I called ahead and the guy said it was a daily driver that was just traded in. When I got there, I found that the body was not only completely destroyed by rust, but the state inspection/license plates had both expired 5 years ago.
I saw an XJ that appeared to be in good shape nearby so the three of us (wife, salesman, and myself) walked over to it. As I approached from the passenger side, I could see that it was in FANTASTIC shape. The salesman opened the drivers door, I started to open the passenger door.
Me: "Nope, not interested!"
Him: "Huh?"
Me: "It's missing a lever!"
Him: *very very confused look on his face*
Me: "There's no point in buying a neutered Jeep"
Wife: ROflMAO

I decided then and there that this was not the dealership for me. Though I did try to buy another YJ from them that was exactly what I wanted (minus the round headlights lol)

freonburn Bought my TJ a couple of weeks back. I was raised around jeeps, my wife around trucks. We are driving around the first night and a stock JK pulls up to the same stop light as us. She looks across at it and said "Look, a baby Jeep"

Holton345 Went to a local restaurant in my 2013 JK today. The owner is a jeeper. He had never noticed my JK in the past. But he loves my TJ. Whenever I roll up and he happens to see it he makes a comment when I come in. But for some odd reason I realized that I usually park the JK in a place away from the front window. Intentional act on my part? Who knows?

Anyway, I parked the JK by the window TODAY. And when I went in he complemented my "new jeep" but looked a bit unhappy. When I finished and came up to the counter to pay he took on that mildly concerned, unhappy look again. So I asked...

He said, "I like that new jeep a lot, but it sure it too bad you sold off that old TJ. I love TJs."

He cracked a huge smile when I told him I still have my TJ. He said, "Never, ever, ever sell that thing, son. It's a classic like the original pre-fastback Mustangs. They just don't make 'em like that no more."

Can't really blame non jeep owners or new ones. The cj/yj/tj/jk/wj designations are confusing at first.

I actually had a great conversation the other day with a few guys from the "other side of the tracks" while pumping gas. All started over them complimenting the jeep. It probably helped that I'm a huge fan of yest roll caprices and complimented their 95 9c1 police package caprice with the LT1 . Wasn't really a fan of the candy green paint on 22"s But I doubt they appreciated everything about the LJ either. I just found it great that the love and appreciation for vehicles could bridge cultural, racial and social-economic bridges and foster conversation. While I say hello to everyone I make eye contact with, I doubt I would have gotten much more than a grunt or at most a "hey" out of them had it not been for the Jeep. You all can blot your eyes one last time and put away the tissues now.

TX_TJ A lady at the gas station the other day, "Is it safe to drive without a windshield? What about bugs and wind?". I said to her, "I have goggles for the wind and luck for the bugs!".
