Oilcanharry Not Jeep related but A guy pulled up next to my Nissan Patrol and said " I thought it was an old Land rover until I saw it move."

I literally laughed out loud at that !!!
I love when someone asks "Does that thing go off road ?"
I reply " Naw, the mud on it is just holding everything together."

They are made to roll safely and I think that's what people miss. Any vehicle is likely to roll in certain circumstances; this is especially so with any vehicle with a high center of gravity.

I hear that a lot, even from extended family members after I bought mine. My response is always, "It's not that hard to find one for sale!"

Of course as I very well know it's often very difficult to find the right one for sale!

FiteClub I dropped my daughter off for cross country practice. They were having a special workout at a nearby field so it gave me a chance to take the Jeep off pavement. When I pulled up, the coach said, "Where are the doors??"
I gave my usual Doc Brown influenced reply, "Doors? Where we're going we don't need any doors!"

She did say she loved the Jeep. When I told her she could go for a ride, she said "Nope, not without any doors!"

Meanwhile, the other CC kids were gathered around admiring and complimenting. My daughter got a bunch of cool factor points when I told them it was hers to drive when she got her permit.

Bredirish123 I get some funny comments fairly often. One of my favorites was when I pulled into a Kroger parking lot doorless and with my top down, some lady looked at me and with sheer fascination and concern asked me, "What happened to your doors?!"

I replied in a very over the top and frantic way, "This keeps happening to me! Someone has been running off with them!"

Needless to say we both had a good laugh.

Fullback40 Usually just nice Jeep or how much would you sell it for? My usual answer is it's not for sale. Some guy told me everything has a price. To which I said $50,000 cash. His response that's rediculous to which I responded you don't want it bad enough then

kgrome My wife has a Jeep Liberty that she says is better than my TJ because I am always working on it. Then i take the top and doors off and laugh in her face.

My wife also asked why people never wave to her when she is in the Liberty. I just laughed.

My wife cannot drive my Jeep because it is a manual. Game; Set; Match!

Alley Oop I live in Southern California and non American people are constantly found filling up at the local gas station off I-10 freeway.
My tj was dirty, the top was off, and I was filling up with gas. No big deal, just fairly normal. I have a ZORT ( the round one with the bio hazard emblem ) decal sticker on the side. It's Zombie lime green. My seats are black and olive green , and I have a olive drab cargo net.

As I was filling up with gas and this very small south american lady (who was coming from the on site store,) who had three kids with her looked at the jeep.

She saw the decal, got a real scared look on her face, looked at me 6'1" and then she grabbed her kids and quickly ushered them to her small Toyota her husband was filling with gas.

She never said a word. But as they pulled away from the gas station she was still staring at me with a scared look on her face....??

GWS22 I had a guy stop me at the gas station (most of these posts start in a gas station!) and asked me how much I spent restoring my CJ... I said it was a 2006 Golden Eagle. He said "oh wow! I thought was a restored '80's CJ... It looks brand new!"
