You will probably like the hidden antenna i just did. I mounted the oem antenna inside right rear under the rollbar padding. (sub $15) I covered the fender hole with a trailbadge like on the drivers side. Works great and cleans up the fender and view from the windshield. Another cheapo is paint the muffler flat black with heat resistant header paint, not my idea seen it at the 2013 NYC auto show and i believe other forum members did it prior. Thanks for your comments.

|leps||deepbluerubi: How do the volume adjustments work? I got the nozzles installed but I'd like to get them to spray a finer mist. Did you just turn the inside part of the nozzle clockwise to for less volume?|

I just did this mod and I love it! I found a way to make the install much cleaner. As a matter of fact, you can't even tell I did anything (from under the hood at least).
I'll post up photos and an end result video here in a bit.

|IBgeocaching||Thanks deep blue for the vid. Did the mod yesterday but still have to tuck things. The nozzles put out more of a fine mist than factory. would like to raise the mist height just a tad though. It sure does get all the windshield though.|

Here is a 4 & 5 way vacuum line splitter. Vacu-tite part #47361
Its 3/16 in. Believe the nozzle kit is 5/32.

Love it that's brilliant. Some one on there has the alphatherm too. Thanks. I'm going to measure the temperature with an IR thermometer. I guess it would depend on the length of hose and how many wraps around the heater hose and what's an acceptable recovery time. Hard to beat the price.......... Good info.

I have no idea on hose diameter I matched it up at autozone. Go small and tight. Otherwise the pressure will make the fittings leak. Dorman makes a four way fitting that will be a cleaner install. Saw it on line, local store only had three ways. The kit comes with two small pieces of hose take them with you to match up. Sorry about the lack of that info.

Why buy a fluid heater? Just keep the DIY going!
|08-19-2012 08:11 PM|
What diameter hose did you buy? I take it you bought the hose and the plastic T's at a standard auto parts store?
I'm placing an order on Amazon and am going to add the Dorman kit to my order.

Maybe I think the new setup weighs an extra 1/2 ounce though............

Thanks, i need to order a 4-way splitter to clean it up a bit under the hood or i could have tucked it under the insulation too. I can always reverse it back to stock I didn't even shorten the original hose. I want to add a heated washer fluid unit before the winter. "alphatherm" I have one in the wifes Enclave and it really helps in the NY winters and with bug and bird/ tar debris. I think that combo will keep the windshield clear! Take care.

$25 and 15 minutes?
If there was a 'mod-of-the-week'
I'd nominate you!
Well done - very clean.
