scavanau Vacuum, vacuum, and vacuum. Upholstry cleaner, rub cleaner off with chamois. Let dry. Vacuum. Repeat. Then on to your dash. Remove panels. Vacuum. Break out the Q-tips.

Southerner I plan on doing this just before I put the top on for the winter. One warning, even with the drain plugs out, waterhoses will not wash the dirt out. they just make dirt float to different spots. I am going to follow several steps. Vacuum, broom, soapwater, and then googone.

monkeee2002 Sorry, I don't have anything to suggest that you haven't already mentioned.

But, may I suggest a cover?

Another interior cleaning question.

I've been looking through the threads, but haven't found anything quite like my question.

I've had my TJ for about two years now, and since I got her, I've pulled all of the carpet and drain plugs, put seat covers on the front seats, and buried the back seat somewhere in the back of my dad's barn. The top/doors have been off approx. 18 of the 22 months I've owned her, I live on a dirt road, and she's never been parked in any kind of shelter.

Anyway, I'm wanting to get the interior cleaned out as best as I can, mainly the residual dirt that has become imbedded in the plastic on the doors and dashboard, as well as in the seat covers. I was planning on just spending some quality time with a bucket of soapy water and a sponge or rag, but thought I'd ask the experts here before I got started. I've tried powerwashing the interior, but it still won't get it clean. I normally wouldn't bother with this, but I feel slightly embarrassed about picking someone up for a date and making her stare at a filthy dashboard and sit on an inch of dirt with a seat cover under it somewhere.

Thanks for the info!
