RatherBNarizona saw the show, pretty interesting. i learned a lot from the show about the history of Jeep. it was cool to see them jumping them when testing them out, and the guys testing them said "it was the best thing they've ever driven"

chasm I must admit, I am partial to those old flat fendered Jeeps!

The early CJ2A and CJ3A models were built so tough that Willys Overland Export Corporation actually shipped a lot of them overseas for use as foreign military Jeeps. It was actually cheaper to buy the Jeeps from Willys and outfit them as opposed to buying them from the U.S. Govt. Go figure?!

squarelightsahara I saw the same show. Gotta love Tivo. It was pretty interesting. I liked the test runs of early jeeps. They were beating them up. It is definately worth watching.

Man and Jeep Documentary

I guess I need to stay home from work more often......

I was channel surfingthis morning when I came across a one hour documentary on our favorite subject, our beloved jeep.
They discussed incerption, through the military use, the CJ, Wagoneer, Jeepster, and Cherokee. Talked about the various acquisitions by various automakers. I got a big kick out of footage of the early military models running completely submerged with the window folded and only the driver, steering wheel, and a snorkel visible out of the mud puddle they were driving them through.

Then ended with footage of a Liberty running through the mud. Evidently is was produced sometime this year.

I found it on the Discovery Channel.
