drezd Hey Ezekiel, I'm in Mobile as well. Don't suppose i can get some more info on the trail you spoke of and maybe some about the Gulf Coast Jeep Club. Thanks.

CoyRoberson Hahaha. It's doesn't matter what branch you're, you decided to do something not many people would do so you have my respect. And more for having a jeep. But I would like to check out Elgin as well.

Ezekiel97 hey I'm in Mobile but I'm a Coastie and I support our guys over at Corry Station. There is the mud off of 98 and wilcox road in AL but I got a lot of mud on my jeep and I will never be able to get it off. I want to go to boggs and boulders sometime or over by Eglin. I drive a 12 JK.

Riptide i've seen your jeep before..nice.

CoyRoberson Yea. I've learned that from a truck I had back home.

Riptide63 I've been meaning to go check it out. It's just that whole job, life, etc thing keeps getting in the way.

I'm right there with you on the dry trails thing. I learned all about mud with my first Jeep, a CJ7. It gets into everything, including electrical connections and oil seals. No matter how well you clean up afterwards, everything will eventually fail... not while you're in the mud, but while you're trying to get to work. lol.

CoyRoberson I'm definitely going to have to go there! I am a big fan of dry trails.

Riptide63 Another place that had completely slipped my mind... Boggs & Boulders

CoyRoberson I might go check this place out. And as for lunch, I usually have lunch from 1100-1230. I might come up there one day. And I will definitely look for the red jeep!

Riptide63 Oh, ok... First of all, thank you for your service!

We're practically neighbors. I work at the Chevy store just outside of the Corry gate. All of the places I used to go off-roading in my first Jeep, years ago, are now either somebody's back yard, been developed, or otherwise off limits. Best bet on finding something close by is gonna be North of Cantonment, maybe into Alabama or Santa Rosa. Niceville is about 1/3 of a tank of gas to the East, but the Eglin reservation begins along Hwy 87 South of I-10.

And, if you're off base around lunch time on a week day, I'm a regular at the Waffle House. Red TJ with Gamblers. Feel free to stop by and talk Jeep.

CoyRoberson Well, I'm at Corry Station right now. I haven't been to Niceville yet. I've really been asking around and people don really know anywhere around here.

Riptide63 What part of town you in? Jones' swamp is on the West side in the Blue Angel & 98 area, but last I heard it's closed, as in off limits forever and strictly enforced. There's some really nasty stuff back there... the kind of stuff I wouldn't even consider taking my daily driver into, even if it were still open. On the North side, there's about a mile or two stretch of power lines between the east end of 10 mile road and the Gulf Power plant. It criss-crosses with some of the UWF bike trails. Not a whole lot there, but it's where I generally go if I just want to take a quick trip off the pavement... some sand, rutted trails and usually some water to cross... probably a really good place to get stuck at the moment considering all of the rain we've had lately... but close to civilization should you find yourself in tennis shoe mode. There's some back roads & such around Cantonment, and I've heard of some places around Milton as well. If you don't mind burning a tank of gas, there's a huge area that is part of the Eglin reservation. Going into the Eglin reservation requires a recreational permit for every person in the vehicle. Permits are in the ballpark of $15 and expire every September if I remember right. They can be gotten at Jackson Guard in Niceville. You'll have to watch a video about unexploded ordinance, and they'll provide you with a map of the areas you can go.

Trails in Pensacola?

Is there any trails in or near Pensacola? Nothing too big, just want to go out and have some fun
