Correct. Another good alternative for the NV3550 is Royal Purple Synchromax which is a synthetic. Synchromesh from GM or Pennzoil is fine too but is a dino gear lube.

Have the dealer do it. That way when it goes out, dealer can put in a new one.

Giancarlo thanks jerry once again..

Jerry Bransford No, I don't believe MT-90 is the best match for the newer transmissions. They do better with something like Royal Purple Synchromax (a synthetic) or Synchromesh (a non-synthetic) from either Pennzoil or GM.

Just plain gear oil like we use in our axles is a GL-5 and the sulphur-based additives in most GL-5 gear lubes are harmful to the soft yellow-metal synchronizers in our manual transmissions. That's why the factory stopped specifying GL-5 for the AX-5 and AX-15 transmissions.

compshooter X3 on the MT-90. I noticed a world of difference when I switched over.

Jerry Bransford Exactly, you can't do any better than Redline MT-90 for your AX-15 transmission. You can get it from Summit Racing - High Performance Car and Truck Parts | 800-230-3030 and read about it at Red Line Oil

99 5speed tranny oil?

Ok so i have looked around here and found 97,98 but nothing on a 99 tranny.

I'm having my tranny fixed tomorrow and dont want them throwing in some crap that came from a 50gal drum in there.
So i told them i would bring in the stuff to put in there...
Now i just need to find out what i need to buy...lol

Thanks
