The cam is interchangable across the years, but other things like the headers vary, getting a change in 2000.
Very cool. Thanks for the input. Be sure to share the finished product of your motor.

4.0l Blocks. Is there a better one?

Is there a better 4.0l block? I thought I read somewhere that there is a couple of years that the block was cast with some extra webbing to strengthen it. Is that true?
I have a 98 TJ with a 4.0l and want to find a junkyard longblock to have rebuilt so I can do a weekend swap. I find alot of 4.0s out of cherokees, but never in my year. Do I need to stick with a 98, or can I expand my search to all years?
