New Central FL jeeper...already looking for and getting advice!
First of all, many thanks to those kind folks who dove in and answered some questions from another post of mine before I checked in here. Secondly, I already appreciate the wealth of knowledge, experience, and humor floating around here. Thirdly, would anybody be willing to make a recommendation or two for my 2012 JKU Sport?
If you are, I'm looking for suggestions for suggestions on the following:
1. A full length bumper that will easily accept a winch. I'm a good wrench turner, but don't want to cut anything. Ideally I'm looking for a TRUE direct fit bumper that only requires re-bolting; no cutting of any sort. I already have Smitty SRC side rails in a matte finish and would like to keep the matte look. Beyond that, I'm pretty open.
2. Being a Floridian, rock crawling isn't really in my future, but loads of mud and sand abound. With that in mind, what suggestions would you all have for a winch with a synthetic cable for self recovery? Is 10k enough, too much, etc.? I'm a winch noob so any perspective will be valuable.
3. Last topic for suggestions, if you know places in Central FL that are fun (and legal) to go off road aside from Ocala NF, please let me know. Within about 1 hour of Orlando is my ideal target.
Many thanks in advance, I look forward to returning the favor as quickly as my knowledge base allows.
