HillbillyJeeper Move across river to KY instead, no inspection. Not legal to date your sister though... Sorry.

busdrvr320 I think the the rule is flares can't be three inches more than original. Thus, the saraha came with a three inch flare and that makes my 6 inch flares legal.

busdrvr320 I failed inspection for no cats on the exhaust. Its an 88 Sahara. I have 6 inch flares and they didn't even say a word. That was in martinsburg.

STUUPID I am getting ready to move to Wardensville, WVa from Winchester, Va. area. I am curious about legal issues with my Jeep as well. I am flat fendered in the front and trimmed stock flairs in the back. 7" lift with 36x12.50 super swampers. Evrything passed in Va. except front fenders. They passed with help from a dead president. I am guessing modified sticker, but how far can I push that? I am looking to go 38's after the first of the year.

emcclure Just called an inspection station. No flares larger than 3 inches. I'm gonna try anyways. Wish me luck.

I did wait till after inspection to put my lt. bar on tho. Still haven't bought the covers that are "required" for them.

BigDog21 Glad I'm west of the river...LOL I'm running 33X12.50's on 15X10's. I'm at least 3 or 4 inches past the stock flares.
Had a buddy get pulled over in Point Pleasant for headlight height in a ford back in the early 80's. Cop actually measured the center of both his headlights & tail lights. Never heard of that law. He was told to get it back across the river and to not bring it back like that.

emcclure Wow, that will suck! Sounds like WV. 3 inch flares will get A LOT of jeeps.

Brian W.V. i heard that you can only have 3in flares. i dont know for sure but i will in a couple weeks when i get some. my sticker ran out 6/

BigDog21 ^^^^ or that. Geesh CMA...why ya gotta make things so logical and easy?
08-30-2012 09:34 PM
CMA_Rider Or put wider flares on it

BigDog21 Buy a set of stock wheels & tires, (or borrow from another jeeper you know) just long enough to get it inspected. You're gonna have to do this more than once...find a cheap set of stock wheels & tires and keep 'em for just this purpose. Yeah, it will look silly with a 4" lift but only until after the inspection.

legal tire width

Need advice with problem. State inspection running out and jeep won't pass due to tires sticking out past stock flares. Jeep is an '06 with 4 inch lift. Tires are 31 10.5. Will rims with bigger backspacing make me legal? WV inspection laws are ridiculous.
