So one of many things needing to get done on the 90 yj was the drivers side floor pan. I really didnt want to buy a preformed replacement i really wanted to get hands on with this fix. Went to Home Depot and bought some sheet metal and had some fun last night.
Still needs some more weld clean ups but it looks pretty good i think.

homemade tube fenders
Ok, so not exactly today but whatever... I finally got around to fabricating my front tube fenders! I needed more clearance up front so this was my solution. I bought a DIY type kit from "Trail Tubes" that came with .120 wall tubing prevent (kinda), meaning to install them like damn near 6 months ago but never had the opportunity to get to them til now... Lets just say the kit didn't come anywhere near "fitting together" the way that it should have. good thing for me i kinda work with metal for a living so I was able to make it work, along with some free (albeit overkill, but again... free) 1/8" plate (thanks Wombat Ranger!). Rear fenders are next but I need to give my "fab bone" a rest for a hot minute.

What I'm doing to my YJ today
Weather permitting I am hoping to blackout my front bumper and grill and bezels, yesterday I hollowed out my side markers and perma-fitted led bulbs to them from a Ford of some sort, I did not want to use store bought led's just because most look pretty lame in my opinion, I am thinking about flush mounting the tail lights as well - the factory ones - as I'm not overly fond of the common circular flush mount tail lights. On the cosmetic to-do list is also to cut down the chrome nerfs and black them out as well then custom fab my own rock guard steps as well. As I get into this YJ I am finding that I am not a fan of the bolt on mods mostly cause they cost a ton of cash to ship in to Juneau, and also I am striving to make my YJ unique and hone my metal working and fabrication skills, plus any excuse to fire up my Victor's is never overlooked I will post pics if I remember, if anyone has questions about light conversions feel free to ask, most led's are are basic and require very little until you get to the big high powered floods that require step up power converters ( I have a few of these on my to do list as well they are Nordic Light Brand used for industrial underground mining and are stoopid expensive so I want to do these not only right but tastefully functional too ) I hope the rest of you guys have the same amount of fun as I have scheduled for myself this week!

|Twojump36||Might do that... I'm pretty sure its coming in on that corner by the windshield /cowl... I can see it wet along the inside of that body panel...|

|4angels||Man those look great. I got to thinking about your leak. Move the drivers seat all the way back, better yet pull it. lay in there with with a flashlight and look up. While water does travel, the inception point will be discolored.|

Installed the Red Rock 4x4 rock guards tonight...
Easy install and perfect fit...

Heading south of me a ways tonight to pick up a TJ sound bar, in black with allegedly working speakers and dome light! I know what I'm doing this week! Now... to break it to the wife that I'll be in the garage instead of in front of the TV.
(The pic is what was sent to me buy the seller. Looks to be in pretty good shape. He said it was under a hard top that was "never off". Not sure about that, but he said it's not faded.)

Had a semi-productive "Sunday Funday" yesterday. Started by grinding off the heads of the bolts that hold on the bumperettes. Glad to have those gone. I've never been a big fan of them.
Then to top it off, my buddy hooked up a new stereo for me (considering I'm color blind, I thought it best to have him do it for a couple of beers rather than crossing something and frying stuff). The PO decided he would chop up the dashboard rather than getting a mounting kit for the stereo he put it (see the pic, it's obvious). So, I'll have to find a new dash piece and get a mounting kit so that I feel better about it. But this setup will work for now.
I'm pretty please with how it came out. I'm trying to hook up with a dude selling a TJ sound bar tonight from CL. That'd be a nice addition. The PO thought it a good idea to mount bookshelf speakers directly to the rear wells. Yep. Self tapping screws, right thru the sheet metal. Dummy. I'll be glad to get those out and patch up the holes.

More like what I didn't complete...
The blower motor for my YJ is an absolute pain in the neck, ac was in the way ( cut out and deleted ) passenger seat was in the way, and the dash. I am definitely going to wait till its warmer and drier to complete this, of all the things I have had to do to my YJ, this has been the most difficult - I truly hope the PO never touches another vehicle again.

|TigWizard||Took the old girl on the interstate for the first time in a while. Was able to cruise at 70mph without much trouble, around 2500 rpm in 5th. She's a 91, 2.5, no lift, and 235/75/15 tires. Was a pretty comfortable ride, for the most part. Just hung in the right lane and took it easy.|
