|n3tfury||Springtail is a nice table, but I still don't trust the plastic inserts. No way it holds as much weight as the ebay solution.|

Springtail Jeep Tailgate Table
I just installed the Springtale Solutions Tailgate Table. Great Table. The installation instructions were straight forward and helpful. I also watched the install video on you tube which was a good visual representation of the install. I reviewed quite a few tables before I decided on Springtail's table. I plan on installing some other pouches on the back on the table besides the ones included in the combo package and using a cutting board as a table top.
Great product and i would recommend it!

I prefer full size tools when off roading - Full size ax, shovel and mattock. But they take up space and seldom if ever are needed. Finding good tools is getting harder . I have looked at Menards, Lowes, Northern Tool, Ace hardware and am not pleased. Fortunately I have some farm and home type stores that do have some nice selections of axes and shovels.

|bmcmahon79||I also wish i had seen the springtail before also. I love the ebay unit but the springtail seems to be a touch biggger and quality is a touch better.|

|bmcmahon79||i removed a smittybilt fabric molle panel and installed the ebay unit. I just used some jb weld on the holes drilled for the fabric unit and got the $4 touch up paint from autozone over that. Looks good as new.|

|kenb1023||I would like to see a side by side comparison of the two products. One thing I like about the eBay unit is that it has a clean appearance for the wire tray where as the Springtail unit leaves the wire loom exposed for about three inches since the plastic cover is removed for the mounting plate. Now on the other hand Springtail is a member here so that is one up for him. I will need to take a closer look at Darkfire's set up at our next club meet.|

|Rack Ops||I never did update my post, but I did get the table installed. I had to get a new drill bit set to do it, but once I got the holes drilled, everything went on fine. I am perfectly happy with the quality of alan's product, but in retrospect I probably would have bought the Springtail kit if I knew what I know now.|

The current price for the Springtail folding tray is $165.00. So if you account for shipping there is actually about a $65-$70 difference between us and the economy ebay solution. While the two have similar appearance, there is a significant difference in quality of hardware, product finish, function and ease of installation.
If those differences mean something to you....we have what you need. If not, the eBay product is perfect for you.

|scipio337||No offense to Springtail, but their rear folding tray/molle panel is $208 (plus $18 shipping for my zip) vs. $115 shipped for alanjk427 design. That's almost 100% more.|

|ak1586||I installed a Springtail MPAC JK MOLLE storage system and couldn't be happier. I followed the instructions for install and it was very smooth and quick. I may choose to anchor it into the tailgate door directly instead of the clips given to put into the black bar along the tailgate but for now it's holding up just fine! It was a perfect fit for a quick diaper change table when out on the road for my wife and me as you can see in one of the pictures!|

Added the overhead rack for the rear.

No....5 bolts and the rack come out (2 of the bolts you have to take out for the hardtop anyway). The rack will need to be readjusted for the height difference (with or without the top there is about 1/4 inch) and then put back in. About 10 minute process each side.
I find that it is an opportune time to hose the mud off the racks.

|RGO||It looks like we have to unbolt the hardtop and slide the side racks in between the body and top?|

That is our product, I can help you out.
Essentially, the Springtail MPAC JK side racks are a bolt in (no drilling needed) rack that fits over the unused area along and above the wheel wells. The Side Rack is composed of formed and laser cut 11 gauge steel
They have been around for some time but have recently been updated to have a cubby in the upper area. The cubby was designed with Ammo box storage in mind but the Expedition folks have embraced it for Marine battery storage for running ARB Fridges. Cubby Dimensions are 6.9 in wide x 13 inches long x 3.5 inches deep
The racks are adjustable to height for switching from hard to soft top and can handle some pretty heavy loads. I have continuously tested them up to 80 pounds...they will likely take more (obviously common sense should apply here). Installation takes about 1 hour and requires only basic hand tools. There is no drilling required; the MPAC system utilizes factory mounting points and factory hardware.
Here is my set up...

Springtail Solutions MPAC
Cool little upgrade for your Jeep to increase storage. Very well engineered and simple install. Now I just need some ammo boxes and straps to hold them in place!
These storage mounts take up that odd space over the wheel wells and make it functional. You can mount ammo boxes into the top for a cool storage bin, or strap Molle bags (or anything else) to the sides of the rack.
