|houstonpdlt||Great, now that I have the 4 holes for mine, and the 3 I screwed up on. But there hidden and nobody bue me knows, well and now all of ya'll. But im still happy with it. Also, my side pannels dont move at all, the stock bolt holds them plenty tight.|

For those of you who do not like to drill holes...a little bird tells me that there will be a "no drill" MOLLE panel/ folding tray on the market in the not so distant future.

could someone do me a favor and post up a picture of the bottom of the steel molle panel? Is there a bar welded to the bottom, that then runs through the brackets, to let it swivel down to a table?? thanks.

These are some excellent ideas. I'm pretty good at working with metal, I am going to see how they come out using 1/8 or 3/16 Aluminum plate. Maybe do a jewel finish on the parts for looks, they wont need paint. I may consider making the side "pockets" come out about four inches (nearly flush with the wheel well) to allow tool rolls and things like that to fit in there. It's mostly wasted space anyway.
My problem is I try to carry too dang many tools, need to cull them out some..A handy storage system is just going to feed my need to carry half a work shop in the back. oh well..
Lots of great ideas and information around here, thank you all again!

Ok. Wasn't done with the tailgate. Added 2 12v outlets.

I'll run take one. It has about a 2" area which is perfect for sliding a tow strap into. I am very happy with the design.
With a towel between the tailgate and table it is solid as a rock with no noise.

Done with the tailgate. Also made the words red to match outside accent color. Wait, that sounded very HGTVish.

|dirtymoney||The side ones are pretty cool, but that is where my head and feet go when I sleep in the back seat.|

So I am talking to a local jeep Fab shop and they are going to build a set of these just wondering if there would be an interest in them. I am not tiring to sell them as they do not even exist yet but basically they would look like this. But different.. The one for the rear passenger side seat would conform to the shape of the seat not just a straight down piece this would allow for a lot more storage/attachment options..
Rdmcclosk: I used your photo as I have not been able to find a clear shot of these two installed, looks great hope you do not mind.

|houstonpdlt||Can anyone tell me where to get the little rubber thingies holding the axe to the rear panel in the first page of this thread? Just installed my table and really like this option.|

|Brad01||I love these ideas, however I fear attaching a lot of tailgate molle in case I need to sleep in the jeep, it will shorten the interior space. I have a jku and its tight already (I'm coming from a explorer, I slept in it on hiking trips often). Any advice is appreciated|

Just ordered mine today with "Wrangler" as the text.
Can wait for the install!

|Ubear7||Ordered mine Monday with custom logo and shipped out yesterday. He is quick. I too prefer the old design but I guess I'll try to make it work or something.|

Well I am game then.
If Alan decides to start selling the original design I'd order another set. I'll shoot him an e-mail to check this thread if I still have his address from when I did my last order.

The issue of them simply pivoting out of position when the bars rest on top of them affects the 4dr.
IOW, the old design would work fine on the 4dr since the top could still go all the way down, and the bars would simply rest on top of the panels. (They don't interfere with lowering the 4dr top itself).
|08-22-2013 06:02 AM|
The old design panels look like they'd have the same issue as the new ones when taking the top down.
I uninstalled my panels because I could not get the soft top to fold fully down into the bed of the Jeep as the panels would block the soft top bars from folding down fully.
Any pics of the old design with the soft top down?

|Gary04Z06||I was going to order the set this weekend, but now seeing this "new and improved" design. I'll pass. Old style was much better.|

He absolutely refused to make me a pair using the old design -- even when I offered him a bunch more money -- so I wish you the best of luck!

Again, the newer single bolt version allows them to pivot out of place at the slightest touch.
The shitty thing was that his advertisement still had the old design in the photos when I placed my order. When I first received the redesign, I went back and forth with the seller over email and he absolutely refused to send the older version instead.
It's really a shame that he completely changed the design. I wouldn't recommend the new ones to anyone!
