Like I said... the power is back... if you have ever had 215's on your Jeep like I did.... the spunky power is all back.. only now up on 33's! Even with the added weight of tires, custom bumpers, swing-away and winch... the power is back.

Thats why I was thinking 4.10's. I'm also a bit of a classic muscle guy so for me 4.56 is stupidly low............I don't abuse my rig at all.

Im extremely skeptical of that low of a gear though.

TnDz TJ Regardless of the gears you choose.. the D35 still needs to be respected to a degree. I run 4.56's on my D35 and do a lot of wheelin every weekend. IF you don't abuse it, it will work for you....

Could you get me a quote on gearing me? I'm debating 4.10 for my 33's and an Aussie up front.

I feel that 4.56 will strain my d35 and risky breakage even more than I already will be at 4.10. Ive opted for 4.10 to protect the axle until I can swap something stronger under the heap.

JPi4.0 This. I would not supply my own parts to a shop for re-gear. Either do it all yourself or have shop do it all.

MFG Mines in the shop for gears and rear locker. I did a lot of research and found an elocker may not be the best way to go in the d44. Has something to do with it being only a 2 pin system which gives a higher chance of breaking.

TnDz TJ The best thing to do, if you have not done a full regear several times already, is to have it done professionally. Nothing like throwing money away in a few weeks or months if not cone correctly.

Personally... selectable lockers are the way to go...

New carrier for the 44.... ( if you are buying selectable lockers, you will need one for the 30 too)
New ring and pinions for 44 and 30
master install kit ( bearings, races, seals, crush sleeve and shims )
gear marking compound to check for proper engagement of ring and pinion on coast and drive sides
dial indicator to check backlash
torque wrench to check preload on pinion

Having said all this.... IF you are going to take it to a shop, have them provide EVERYTHING... even if its more money. Why? They will be 100% responsible for any and all failed parts. If you provide them with the parts, they will try to weasel out of a warranty issue.

Regear question

I've got dana 44 with 3.55 gear ratio on 33's. My rear carrier/ spider gear are pretty much toast. I want replace it with an elocker but after doing some research it seems my gear ratio seems a bit low for 33's and is recommended i go 4.56. what's involved in this? i'm aware of the obvious replacements of both carriers, ring gears and pinions, but what else is needed? (front is a dana 30 btw)
