1BLKJP It could be entirely possible to order a 44 for the front if you were completely ordering a rig from scratch. However DC did not start using a 44 in the front until 2003 when the Rubicon model was debuted. So the 2002 that your neighbor has does not have a 44 in it.

R1Gal That's what I'm thinking. He's my neighbor and I hate to call him a liar.. Lol.
But was just wondering if it was possible to have gotten one from the factory this way, a Sport, not a Rubi.

anything is possible but I highly doubt(sp?) that he ordered a 44 for the front... he probably has the 44rear/30front

Dana 44 Axles

Hi, Just wondering is it possible to buy a 'Stock' Jeep Wrangler Sport with Dana 44 front and rear axles. My neighbor has an '02 Sport and claims it has these. Say's he ordered it from the factory this way. I've seen them with Dana 44 rear's and 30 front. Just curious.
