Went and checked it out on sat...was a treat. Total hillbilly selling something he didn't know anything about. Lift was all done well, but needed new tires bad. Had cig burns in the seats, dog hair everywhere in the back seat. The rocker panels had seen some serious off-roading as they were rusting bad and had chunks missing.
I noticed a license plate holder from a local dealer that is known to be very shady in dealings,(selling salvage title vehicles as normal title), asked if he had bought there and he said he bought it private.
Girlfriend and I still took it for a drive for fun, and wasn't impressed either. Wasn't too hard to walk away from this one.

|edved37||Gonna go check it out this afternoon, if someone didn't pick it up last night. The guy said it was installed before he bought it over a year ago, so the lift has been on awhile, that was one of my first questions.|

|chim-chim7||Dana 44 front axle c's can tweak with a street driven vehicle on 35"s. Not to mention stock ball joints. Make sure those issues are addressed. Same with stronger axles or at least axle sleeves. Some folks lift for looks, but with a Jeep you cant just throw on a 5" lift and 35"s and call it a day. Doesn't matter if its never been off-road damage will still occur.|

|sinepome||I bought my yj with 4" lift and 33's. I would not normally recommend something like this bit I knew the guy who had built it and knew the parts were quality. Make sure you or someone with you knows what to look for and don't be afraid to walk away if something doesn't feel right. GL|

It's worth checking out if you know what you're looking at, especially if it's a street-crawler. Here's why:
I have a buddy who has to have the best of everything. His last truck, a Silverado, was lifted with 35's. I know he paid top dollar for the best work available. He had lockers front and rear, etc, etc. The truck NEVER went off road except to drive into his front yard so he could wash/wax it. When he sold that truck someone got a sweet deal, not a problem. Why did he sell it? The '13s came out and someone at his work bought one, so he had to get one better. His need to have the biggest/best trumps common sense. I'm not saying this is or isn't the case with the jeep you're looking at, but it's worth finding out. I suspect there are alot of trucks out there that are like this..

I would also find how many miles the lift has on it. If it has several miles on it and everything is still tight under the jeep then odds are it is still in good shape. If it is a new lift and things are already looking loose then odds are it won't be worth buying.
Just my 2cents.

* He didn't know what he was doing.
* He got the lift on and suddenly realized he'd f***ed his rig up, and didn't wanna drop the major coin to bring the rest of it to par with the lift.
* He put the lift on and banged it around off-road, and you're gonna buy his problems.
Yes, that's a pessimistic viewpoint, but if I'm gonna buy a used Jeep, I wanna be as certain as possible it hasn't been mistreated. Just putting a lift like that on a JK – UNLESS it's accompanied by all the necessary mods to do it properly – is irresponsible.

Honestly, I would run away from it. It looks like a street queen so the lift probably isn't done right to support 5". However, it doesn't hurt to check it out. You may be surprised and find is done the correct way. For 5" it needs nearly everything you can get for a lift: Adjustable control arms, adjustable trackbars, extended brake lines, new driveshafts front and rear etc..Everything Kjeeper said. Also find out what brand of lift is on it.

|bbtj||Looks decent enough. Check to see what used ones are going for in your area, some people think/believe that they should get what they paid for of out the modifications they added to a vehicle. Find out who did the mods and make sure you have a mechanic that know jeeps check it out.|

Good price just make sure it has the mods to support 5" of lift. That's a lot.
