Drying time was relatively quick. After an hour in the sun the material was tacky. I think total time for the entire project from paint to install was about 6 hours.

|Steel02001||I'm slow on the draw I guess, which paint/bed liner did you use and how long to dry?|

- more grip when removing panels
- an increase in sound dampening (just took off soft top from summer use, so this may be only my inner ear dyno)
Haven't noticed any insulation benefits regarding temperature...

I'll have to research this project; I'm curious if there was any sanding/prep cuz that inside seems so slick. I wonder how well the bedliner will hold/maintain over time.

|Pattynole||did you do this just for cosmetic reasons or are there insulation benefits? like interior heat reduction? just wondering. i don't mind the white, but being in FL if i park mine under the sun, the inside of the top can be very hot to the touch. thanks.|

|RB-10rubicon||It looks so much better black in my opinion .the rustoleum bedliner stuff is awesome ive sprayed my light covers also the stuff holds up very well. Id did all that work to it and know im trying to sell it. The bedliner paint gives you a nice grip when your takeing out the panels. Only thing that i didnt remove when painting was the wiper motor.|

I was a little worried as my spray paint skills are not the best, but the product was very forgiving.
2. Yes, there were white spots when I put the top on. Mostly at the flange that bolts to the body along the quarter panel. The second spot was along the lower edge of the side glass. When I saw these I took the top off and quickly resprayed the areas. There were no white marks or scratches caused by installing the top, rather, the white spots were caused by novice painting skills.
3. 4 cans in total provided 2 coats. I need to pick up one more can to have as a backup. I used Rustoleum Bedliner that I purchased at Home Depot. I also used some acetone on the area to be painted.
