Greeting from Western Colorado...
Howdy... I recently purchased a 98 Wrangler TJ (out of western Utah) that has had extensive customization work done to it... Honestly it was purchased as a hobby for my wife and myself, (She is actually possibly more enamoured with it than I am...hehehe).... It has a very nice long arm suspension, practically new (rebuilt) 4.0 w/ a supercharger, upgraded brakes, moderate armor, custom rear bumper/ tire carrier assembly, etc... I have already wrenched on it somewhat and am about to tackle my first welding project on it soon ( I own a Hobart Ironman) and I do have a long laundry list of other upgrades that I want to do.....
I joined this forum to get ideas, see new products, and hopefully find a person or two in my area (Grand Junction, CO) that really knows Jeep wranglers and is willing to offer a little advise and guidance to a guy who is just getting back into "The Jeep Thing" after a long hiatus.
I will admit I am a little intimidated by the number of, and the length of some of the threads here.... and as a novice to this whole activity I will probably most likely be doing a whole lot more listening than actually commenting.... and since "this isn't my 1st rodeo" so to speak... in terms of internet forums, I'll be more likely to search the forum's archives rather than to ask redundant typical neophyte questions.... so far I'm impressed with what I see and as I become more familiar with this environment I'll be more forthcoming and participatory.
I'm an avid outdoorsman, Elk hunter, fisherman, hiker, skier, shooter and my wife and I are in the process of writing a how-to book about outfitter style camping... I am a designer/craftsman by trade, a Libertarian by nature and a strong supporter of the bill of rights... especially the 2nd amendment.
