Technically? Easy. I'd do them in any stock Wrangler. The consequences for screwing up? Disastrous. The view? Incredible!

See above.

I approve this message.
Great! I can put these on my can do list before needing tires/lift kit!

It is far enough out that we might be able to align our trips next time.

How difficult were the trails?

Webster / Redcone

These are my home trails although I have to admit to running Georgia more often. I've lived in the are for a while now and have loved all the local trails. Now I'm moving to WA for a year for work, sailing, boating and fresh seafood. I'll be renting out my house here which does boast a three bay garage with a floor lift and other shop infrastructure, a short drive to the trails one way and Denver the other. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Yes. On black bear especially. No brakes there would be death.

Red Cone was a lot of fun. The first half is fun and rocky/ mildly challenging, and the top half is drop dead gorgeous.

We had planned to meet some locals that I know from another forum, but they all bailed on me for one reason or another. Ran Red Cone alone, but saw other people around. ATVs mostly. Started BBR alone, but overtook a stock TJ just like mine, and followed them the rest of the way. It was their second time on the trail. First was in 1989.

I took the tools I always carry on the trial, plus some food and water. Nothing really major in the way of spares. I have a set of spare rear axle shafts, but they need to be removed from the axle that they're in. I don't worry about breaking anything because I'm overbuilt for 33s, and I'm easy on the go pedal.

Rubiconpoor Yeah I think they only thought I was on the run. I know that I have not done it. I will be doing that area in August of 2013.

Ageless Stranger You would most defiantly remember BBR.
11-24-2012 06:39 PM
Rubiconpoor I have done red cone and radical hill but still have not done black bear, even though friends have told me that I have. I would remember.
