MoA my 3.75'' backspaced rims with 33x12.5'' tires stuff nicely into my fender wells.. then again i DO have the wider sahara flares.. jerry im assuming your just running stock flares?

ive been having problems making up my mind on flareless tube fenders and fendered tube fenders because of the backspacing on my rims.. without the wider sahara flare.. my tires look like they'd stick out like 4''

Less backspacing moves the wheel outward, more backspacing moves the wheel inward. So less than 3.75", like 3.25", would move the tire outward more, not a good thing.

Going with more backspacing, like 4" to 4.5" will just tuck the tire in nicely... allowing the tire to more easily stuff into the fenderwell as it should. If you had 4.5" of backspacing, you would only need to add two washers under each of the two steering stop bolts to prevent minor tire rub on the control arm when the steering wheel is turned all the way left or right.

The yellow tape measure in the below photo is measuring the amount of backspacing which is the distance between the rear edge of the wheel and its mounting flange.

I have Weld Racing 15 X 8" with BFG MT KMs on.. Besides being "bead loss vulnerable," The 33 X 12.5 will provide the 15X8 rim a little more protection from rocks and such (especially when aired-down).

mknight759 less backspacing just pushes the tire further outside the fender well more than 4.5 will cause it to rub when turned all the way to one side they look better on the 8 in rim to me

Jerry Bransford Definitely stick with a 15x8 if you air your tires down for offroading. That size tire will be able to be aired down to a lower pressure without fear of losing the bead than you could if you went with a 15x10 wheel.

What size wheels to put on 33" bfg m/t..

I want some input from some people with the 4" suspension lift by tough country.... I am putting 33x12.50x15 bfg m/t but idk what size wheels to use.
what backspacing is safe, and whats not...? And its fine to put an 8" wide wheel on these tires correct?
