SkylineTj It was the flywheel.

Picked it up this morning and it runs and drives like a champ

SkylineTj New motor was in, it was running great, but there is a vibration that you can feel when you have your hand on the Jeep.

They think it may be from the flywheel being turned, so they're pulling the motor back out and I'll hopefully have it back tomorrow afternoon if that's what the problem is.

SkylineTj Yea, a guy posted that on OJT.

I found a motor with 98k on it. Should be running strong again by Wed-Thurs.

SkylineTj Ended up taking it to Rick's Automotive in Springfield at Sunshine/Campbell.

I did the after hours drop-off last night and they started diagnosing it around noon today and called to give me an update anytime they found out something new.

It's looking like it's not as bad as previously imagined, but could still turn out as the same outcome. They did a combustion gas test on the coolant and it came up clean, so the head/head gasket are fine, but they found that cylinder 3 never fires, and it's not the coil, plug, or injector. They are going to pull the valve cover on Monday and let me know if it has any obvious signs like a broken valve spring.

They've been super helpful so far, and I'll continue to update until my experience with them ends.

Springfield, MO -- Shop for Engine R&R?

Hey guys, I skimmed through the Missouri threads and didn't exactly see what I'm looking for.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with shops in the Springfield area as far as removing and installing a motor, as my 4.0 has a crack in the block and needs replaced.

I'd like to take it somewhere that won't break the bank too terribly bad, and would also have a good warranty on their work.

I have my degree in automotive technology, but I just don't have the facility, tools, or the time to tackle it.
