Michigunman Fog lights are for lighting a small area in front and off to the sides to see the edges of the roadway while driving in FOG. For your application some bright floody off road lights is what you want, and yes down on the bumper. If you need to light up further out in front is when you would go for the spot type driving/off road lights either on the bumper or windshield.

There are tons of them out there. Jeep Auxiliary Lighting - Quadratec is a good place to look as they have all kinds on their site. You can see what is available in your price range.

jeepwayoflife Thanks for the help. I will put them down low and maybe the daylighters, but still looking at other options. Thanks again

Links to lights would be great too!

BeaverJeeper you don't want fog's up high on the windshield. i got a pair of 130W KC Daylighters from amazon for 130 bucks. i have them up on my windshield and they are CRAZY bright. they put out light almost 180 degrees, and about 35-40 yards infront of me. i highly recomend them. i'd buy them again in a heartbeat. they're the long range driving pattern.

DevilDogDoc That's what I would do. I just pulled my lights off of my windshield mounts and moved them to the bumper after a nice state trooper told me that they were too high and needed covers. Moving them was free and I would have needed to get a set of covers.

jeepwayoflife So fog is the way I shoud go? And mount them on bumper, not windshield?

DevilDogDoc Walmart sells some Hellas for like $70, but I couldn't find any in a fog pattern. That's where I got my long range ones though, had them a while, work fine, bright but the switch I got in the kit was bad out of the box. Try amazon or eBay for more light choices.

jeepwayoflife Any suggestions on companies or models? Is 100 watts alright? I have a cheap battery so I can't go too big

DevilDogDoc Good job earning the Jeep!! I would mount some fogs on the bumper so you can use them on the road as stock lights suck. Get some long range driving lights for the windshield. Those are useful Offroad but not so much on it.

jeepwayoflife Yea. I have been helping my grandpa every summer for the last few years working on his house and cars, so this was kinda my payment.

Fog lights or Flood lights?

Hey everyone! Just turned 16 and just got my first jeep! Pics and info are on my profile.

Anyway, I just got my winch in and want to add some lights for night time wheeling and camping. I want some pretty bright lights that light up a big area, not just a small spot. They would be mounted at the bottom of windshield and I have brackets for 2.

Budget is probably $150 max for both lights, as im only 16 and just bought the winch and Airraid system.
Thanks for your time!
