Buster If you haven't already...try soaking it with some PBblaster....when you get the door off...and you will...coat the pin and the inside of the hinge with white lithium grease....makes it much easier down the road.

legacy i had the same problem, took me almost an hour to get both doors off for the first time, i had two people pick up on the door as i hammered and wiggle the door as well. also i ended up haveing to get a screw driver and wedge it inbetween the hinges to get the door to move a little bit which does help out a lot. once you get them off, throw some never cese or whatever it is, some type of lubricant that stays! into the bolt holes, this helps when taking off in the future.

1BLKJP Ditto from me. The pass. side is a mofo sometimes. Always works for me to grab top of frame and the bottom and wiggle it as I am lifting up. Occasionally takes some man handling, but it always gives up and I win.

4Jeepn Yeap, try moving it as you lift up..and another person helps sometimes too.. I also have one door that comes right out and another that I want to beat with a hammer..

khenderson i just grab the handle and then under the door; then i pull and turn the door till it comes out. you may need to get your knee under there and use it for leverage. my pass door won't come out easily unless it's open a certain amount so i have to fiddle with it til it gets in the right spot then it comes out.

oh....and welcome to the board!! hope you enjoy yourself and don't be afraid to ask anything. we've got some good guys(and gals) here to help!

Cant get my doors off

Hello all, I am a new jeep owner as of about a month ago. I bought a 00 Wrangler and I am having great difficulty getting my doors off. Is there a trick to getting them off I have taken the bottom nuts off ,lubed the bolts and beaten upwards with a hammer and no luck. Otherwise love the jeep and love the website, thanks in advance for any information to my problem
