|Wnmshoe||Thinking of bigger wheels and tires, may help. Been looking at military jeep trailers. But cost as crazy. Thing is they have good ground clearance, but are short.|

Lifting trailers can be dangerous. Raising the center of gravity of the load can cause tipping problems, stability issues, cross wind problems, makes it harder to load up heavy/bulky cargo, etc.
Taking a 5x8 foot trailer, lifting it, and then turning it into a camper is probably going to cause cross wind issues and stability problems on the highway.

Building trailer suggestions
Am going to build trailer to tow behind 1992 Wrangler. My thoughts:
Buy 5x8 trailer from Home D/Lowes.
I have design for making camper, going to use 4x8 siding for walls.
My question is how do I lift trailer to have same ground clearance as Wrangler?
Move axle to under springs. And then what?
