Ibuildembig It will not bolt up to anything but a 2.5. Your gonna need an AX15 or automatic. The wiring isnt too bad. Your also going to have to cut and reweld the engine mounts.

Tranmission/ engine swap HELP please!

Beginning question to my winter project lol. I have a 90's style 4 cylinder 5sp carb yj frame and drive train that is the start to my project. Im assuming it has the manual ax-5. But since its bare i was thinking of switching the engine to a 92 4.0l HO fuel injected that was orginially a automatic. My main question will the 4.0l HO bolt to the 4 cylinder transmission or would you need to switch the transmission to the ax-15 manual?
Also anyone know how much rewiring would be involved?
This is my first ground up project (for the road lol) any little pointers would be greatly appreciated!
