VansMudder Yeah the stock shocks are good for up to 2" of lift. Most aftermarket shocks will list their fitment sizes the lowest starting from 0" to 2 " of lift then they move up from there for taller lifts.

On the TF leveling kit im familiar with the front pucks come in two 1" discs per side and the rears are a completely different size and shape so no they only work for the rear. But if this is indeed what you want to do just buy two 1" pucks I believe they sell them individually and don't worry about the rears or the end links, they should be fine as well. If you do buy the whole kit and use the 2 1" pucks for each side in the front the end links will prob need to be replaced, im not sure what the cut off is on that.


just realized you said you already have the 1" pucks...haha those are for the front.

everyone likes to throw the term Rubi Springs around, there is no such animal also there is no difference between 2 door springs and 4 door springs. you will gain height with the leveling kit.

VansMudder I've had my sport parked beside numerous rubi's before my leveling lift and we were exactly the same height. I think the Rubi coils are a bit more robust is all. Most here that have 2 doors go with 4 door springs as it gives you a fair bit of lift as the 4 doors are a quarter ton heavier and have taller springs to compensate for the added weight.

Yea you won't need a track bar or adj control arms.

Fr8dawg Would it be overkill to get the teraflex forged trackbar and adjustable control arms with the performance (coil) leveling kit?

Also, it seems most of you here have sports, would the 1.5" springs be a zero sum gain on a '14 rubicon? I ask because it seems popular to run rubi shocks and springs on sports meaning they must sit higher... Right?

I just want to run 33" x 12.5 duratracs as this is my daily driver

If that cost includes the Performanc leveling kit ( coils ) and the install that sounds about right. Just curious I called a local shop to see what they charged to install the lift and they said $320 which included an alignment.

as another person said, you can definitely do it yourself and it will help u learn about your jeep. I did mine in my driveway with a neighbor. I had never done anything like this before and it was pretty straight forward. I did an alignment bc I didn't want to take a chance in damaging brand new tires.

stock wheels don't have the back spacing needed to avoid the rubbing. Spacers are needed. A leveling kit will not help this.

dhc-6 I installed the Tera flex pucks in 1:20 from start to finish, no front alignment needed and it took me just a couple minutes to straighten the steering wheel.

hypoxic1911 I did the install myself with some help from a friend. I had previously never even taken a tire off, so it CAN be done by someone with limited experience, but willing to go slow. Having said that, I did majorly screw up the first step and disconnected both rear lower control arms!!!! that really sucked and it took 3 hours to get the bolts back in. So I did need an alignment after that. If you can get one cheap enough I don't see why it would hurt. Bottom line is that I learned a ton about what is going on under my jeep and will not be afraid when I want to change out my chocks next

Mike in the Hills With both the Teraflex leveling kit and performance leveling kit (JKU 2014), is a front alignment needed?

4 wheel parts, Jeep Masters and two other garages in Austin area are telling me its necessary to do a front end alignment. I was hoping to have a local garage perform the install but all the shops around here quote 3-4 hours of labor which appears to be a bit out of place based on how long I hear a few guys state it takes to do in their driveways. Basically around a total of $500.00 to $550.00 for the parts and labor. Is this out of line?

I am looking to use my stock rims 255 75 r17 and move to Duratrack 33's I was thinking I had to add wheel spacers 1.5" ?? but am now wondering if a lift kit would accomplish the same thing. I. e. avoiding rubbing on hard turns. This might be a better alternative to the spacers since I'm not even sure if Spacers are legal in Connecticut

hypoxic1911 to bring this thread back from the dead... I'm currently researching wheels/tires for mu JKU: landed on the Duratracs 33's 285/70/17. Still looking at wheels, but with my tf 1.5 PERF leveling kit, what is the backspacing numbers I should be looking at? I see wheels I like, but they only come in, say, 5" bs. Do I really need to stay at 4.5 in order to eliminate any rub? not sure I want to run wheel spacers so I want to get the wheels right the first time. Thanks

It is called the Teraflex Performance Leveling kit. It is 4 coils and sway links.

razdds2 What is the specific TF coil leveling kit? I seem to get confused on the various vendors which is which. I want to replace my TF spacer leveling kit because it appears that my driver side spacers had become a bit uneven resulting in my spring appearing to bend.

The labor is the same. If you can do one, you can do the other. I also STRONGLY suggest (with strong disagreement from lots of members) that unless your leveling kit is a placeholder until you can afford your REAL lift...basically, if the leveling kit is "it" for you, do NOT get the spacer lift but get the coil leveling kit (the performance leveling kit.) The spacers will rot out, or get chewed out, and eventually, fail.

raider68 I am going to order the TF leveling kit for my 2007 JK X. I see in several posts that people say to use a Torque Wrench to reinstall everything. The problem is I don't see any Torque Values in the Teraflex instructions. Can anyone help me?

The other question I have is that on the Teraflex website for the Leveling Kit it states the following, "If you prefer to run the factory wheels, you may need wheel spacers for proper clearance". I had the stock steel rims with the 16" Goodyear Wranglers on them. I installed some new 18" tires/rims off of a 2013 Unlimited (Bridgestone Deuler AT). What does this mean exactly?? Do I need to install wheel spacers?? If so,what exactly do I need to buy?

A leveling kit is very easy to install with no experience and basic hand tools.
