4Jeepn Gears... well chances are you have 4.10 gears or there abouts. Both axle need to be geared the same.. or really close. like 4.10 and 4.09. With the 4 banger and 33's, either 4.56's or 4.88's seem to work well from what I have heard from most people. Doing a gear change is best left to a shop or a pal who knows what they are doing. Also if your going to pay to have the gears done you may also want to think about a locker. A good set of new gears will be around $500-600 with install kits etc, depending where you get them and the maker. Install from most shops should be around 200-300 per axle. Hope this helps a bit.

finished lift and tires...now sittin still.

Okay, my 95 YJ was just lifted with a four-inch lift, and 33-inch tires on. My tiny four banger is now feeling like a one banger...I can just forget about going over 65mph,or shifting into 5th gear due to lack of power. So im guessing i need to gear up in my axle,(even though the bescheissen! mag said I wouldnt have to!) But I dont know what I need...How do I find out...one; what I currently have?(stock),two;what size up im going to need?...and three; If I need to do the same to my front axle as well? Do I gotta measure something? The lift job was easy enough to do..but something tells me theres alot more I gotta do? so what is it?
